A "Giclee" (zhee-clay) is a sharp, high color-fidelity, archival print produced using a professional-quality ink-jet printer from a high resolution digital image. The quality of the giclee is comparable to prints produced from traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes. Special archival ink is used for high chemical stability and light fastness and a giclee on canvas shows texture. Giclees are of sufficiently high quality that they are commonly found hanging in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
