History Of the Credit Card

The universal credit card was invented in 1950 by Diners Club Inc. This credit card was the first that had the ability to be used at many stores around the country. One of the first major credit card companies, American Express, began distributing its products by 1958. After American Express, many of the card companies we know today began to follow. Some of these include Visa and MasterCard.
