I am from the fresh picked platenos in the gardens of Puerto Rico,

Colorful jalapeņos, Spicy

Red rice fried chicken, and Tapitio

I am from stuffed animals, Religious statues of the virgins of Guadalupe, red

9 ounce gloves, the rug rats

And Rocco's Modern Life.

I am from hip-hop dancing, sassy attitudes

The fear in the eyes of the unknown, Love and care that

Was shown in my town

Everywhere, I am from the dedication and

Commitment in life, I am form the easy

Going And hard working, the

Riches and the poverty, growing pains

And the high of life.

I am from a beautiful woman working

To make us happy and give the life she believes

We were meant to be given, the teachers helping to teach

I am from the future and the past, loyal friends

And dreaded enemies, desired love and Passionate hatred

I am from the calm waters and the fierce flames,

Heaven and hell. I am indeed good and bad I am what I am.

I am from real people, the real world

And what it was then, what it is now, and what it will become.
