Trent Green

 

Biography

Trent Jason Green was born on July 9, 1970 in Cedar Rapids Iowa.  He spent the majority of his youth in Missouri.  He went to Vianney High School in Kirkwood Missouri, which is right outside of St. Louis.  He was named the football teams three time all conference and all district quarterback choice.  He then went on to play college football at he University of Indiana completing 421 of 755 passes for 5,400 yards with 23 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.  In 1993, he was drafted with the San Diego Chargers as their third quarterback.  He never played a single game the whole season.  In 1994 he joined the British Columbia which is part of the Canadian Football League.  He dressed for two games but saw no action.  Then in 1995, he was drafted by the Washington Redskins where he was their third quarterback.  Through that whole season he saw no action.  He stayed with the Redskins again in 1996 as their third quarterback but once again saw no action.  He was still with the Redskins in 1997 as their third quarterback and got to play in one game.  He attempted one pass but failed.  In 1998, he remains with the Redskins and played for 16 games and started in 14 of them.  He completed 278 of 510 passes for 3,441 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.  Then in 1998, he joined the St. Louis Rams and missed out on the entire season because of a torn ACL, MCL and lateral meniscus in his left knee.  In 2000, he played in eight games for the Rams and started in 5 of them due to an injured Kurt Warner.  He completed 145 of 240 passes for 2,063 yards with 16 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.  Then in 2001, he became a Kansas City Chief and he started in all 16 games.  He completed 296 of 523 passes for 3,783 yards with 17 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.  He still remained with the Chiefs in 2002 and started all 16 games, completing 287 of 470 passes for 3,960 yards with a career high 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.  In 2003, he still remains with the Chiefs and has started in all 16 games.  He earned the Derrick Thomas award as the Chiefs MVP and he also received his first invitation to the Pro Bowl.  In 2003 he completed a career high with 330 of 523 passes for 4,039 yards and 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Today Trent Green remains with the Chiefs as their starting quarterback.
