TELUS WARNING
Canada has a lousy and expensive cell service compared to the rest of the world but we are stuck with crappy service anyway and as a Canadian you have to learn to put up with it. However, there are some things you can do to help protect yourself. The biggest one is to
AVOID TELUS
And if you do ignore my advice and and sign up for telus service anyway be warned:
YOU ARE STUCK FOR LIFE AND CAN NEVER CANCEL YOUR OVERPRICED CRAPPY SERVICE
You call their account management number 1800-777-1888 and they tell you to go to the store that you signed up with. The store says they cannot cancel phone numbers and have to call the 1-800 number that is answered by monkeys. But without something called a pin number (That they dont give you) you cannot talk to anybody on the phone. So what is one to do? After two months of trying to cancel my phone I stop paying them and finally I go to a store and give the saleslady - who is a nice lady who just happens to be working for a crappy company - and gives her a hard time. Finally she calls their service department for me but gives me the important information that the pin number is your year of birth. WHY DIDNT SOMEBODY JUS ASK FOR MY DATE OF BIRTH LIKE ANY INTELLIGENT COMPANY WOULD DO? Then my cell phone service would have been cancelled months ago.
Finally my phone gets cancelled and I expect that I am finally going to get a final bill. But this is telus that you are dealing with so making intelligent common sense assumptions is a dangerous thing. They cut me off for not paying the bill. But here is the fun part: THEY ARE STILL CHARGING ME? AND THEY STILL WONT CUT OFF MY PHONE.
Becides this when I signed up I never got the plan that the sales person promised for four months and was overcharged $50 a month for these four months. And Telus is the only cell company that you cannot use their phones with another cell company or overseas. I figured that I just never did my homework and put up with these lessons sorry that I chose telus in the first place. Unfortunately, like a bad ex wife with a good lawyer, I seem to be stuck with Telus for life.
So be warned:
SIGNING UP FOR TELUS IS JUST LIKE HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX WITH SOME STREET WALKER.
YOU MIGHT CATCH HERPES:
THEN YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT FOR LIFE
