This site is specifically designed to provoke Interest in the field of systems analyst. I have revealed information about everything you would want/need to know about: what they do, educational requirements, working conditions as well as miscellaneous important key facts you need to know before hand.

What is a systems analyst and what do they do? Computer Systems Analysts work as an intermediary between clients and programmers. They meet with the client and learn about the client's specific needs. They then work with the programmers to design and develop software that fits the client's needs. The Computer Systems Analysts supervises the programmers to make sure that they develop the software to the client's specification in a timely manner. The Computer Systems Analyst also tests the developed software before it is given to the client. Once it is installed on the client's system, the Computer Systems Analyst trains the client's staff to ensure that they know how to use the software properly.

On the job, they meet with clients to figure out how they want to use the system. After meeting, the analyst figures out what kind of system would best suit their needs. Analysts can’t walk into an office and immediately know what’s needed. They have to take time to review a client’s current system, which means they have to know how to operate many different systems.

Next, the analyst meets with a computer programmer and discusses what the client requires of the new software. After the computer programmer has come up with new software, the systems analyst tests the program to make sure it meets all of the client’s requirements. Then the analyst goes back to the client and installs the new system. But they don’t just drop-off the software -- they train the clients how to use the program and answer any questions they may have. The systems analyst may be responsible for creating computer security and passwords, and for developing databases. They should also be available for consultation if the customer needs help with a program at a later date.

Systems analysts work in clean, well-lit offices. However, because they work at a computer station all day they’re susceptible to repetitive strain injury and eye fatigue. In order to prevent these types of injuries, they should take frequent breaks from their work. Analysts spend some time away from their desk and travel is required if they visit clients` offices to develop a system. Overall I highly recommend this profession to anyone who enjoys working with computers as well as new people. It is a great career as well as many advancement opportunities.
