The range continued after the war but with a redesigned radiator grille which was larger and almost flush with the slightly curved cab front which had lower windscreens. Then followed a more streamlined cab with with wrap-round windscreen which was introduced in 1949.
In 1952 a completely new design of oval radiator grille was incorporated on all models and this lasted until 1961 when the LV cab type was introduced. The company produced its first 32ton gcw tractor unit in 1962.
The production of fire appliances was commenced in 1967 and this lasted for 10 years until it was taken over by Jennings, which had always had close links with ERF, as Cheshire Fire Engineering Ltd.
In 1970 the range was rationalised and in 1974 the B range with steel framed plastic cabs appeared for the highly succesful four, six and eight wheeled rigids and for the four and six wheeled tractor units for load of up to 32ton gtw which appeared in 1975. With the increasing use of British lorries on the continent, ERF developed the SP cab in 1973 on vehicles up to 42ton gcw with the Motor Panels sleeping cab as an optional extra.
A lighter version of the B range known as the M range was introduced in 1978 which had the same cab but was a four wheel 16ton gtw with the option of a Gardner or Dorman engine; this was followed by a six wheel 26ton rigid.
