The
Wonderful World of AP Lang I have written many essays throughout this year, most of which were pretty bad, but I have managed to scrape up 3 essays that I think are relatively decent and suitable to be presented on the great information super highway known as the Internet. They are as follows: 1.) A Night of Doom: This was a narrative about my first experience playing the PC thriller Doom 3. It's told from the perspective of Marine stranded on Mars who must fight hellish demons to get off the planet. This essay focused solely on the very beginning of the game when "all hell breaks loose." I chose this as my descriptive essay because Doom 3 was the most graphically advanced game at the time, and I thought describing it would be a very fun challenge. 2.) Saving Private Chocolate: This is a descriptive essay about how to prepare chocolate chip cookies. Part of the challenge in writing the cookie essay was not only writing an interesting story, but also incorporating clear directions on how to prepare the cookies. In this essay, the chocolate chip army desparetley fights a useless battle against the human cook, and they unknowingly give directions on how to prepare the cookies. 3.) Windows V. Mac: The Ultimate Rumble: A comparison/contrast essay where i pit the two computer giants against each other in a boxing match. In the essay, I compared various aspects of both machines while trying to stay as close to the metaphor of a boxing match as possible. I really enjoyed this essay and saw it as an opportunity to have fun talking about technology. |
