Weather and Air Unit
For our science lessons we learned about several different types of weather instruments. The students had the oppurtunity to use real weather instruments, as well as make their own. We also used our instruments to measure and learn about the wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, and temperature.
Each student had a daily calendar, where they would record the weather for each day. Students had weather pieces that they pasted onto their calendar to represent what the weather was like for each day. Each weather piece had a picture and the weather word (sunny, rainy, overcast, partly cloudy, snowy).
At the end of the month we used the completed weather calendar in our math class to total the amount of days and what the weather was like. Students also determined what type of weather we had the most and least number of days.
