Installing Custom Sprays for Steam Games
First of all you will need to get Wally, here. Then install it, and open it.
- Click File -> New
- Select Half-Life Package [wad3](.wad)
- Click Ok
- Click Wizard -> HL Color Decal
- Click the Circle right in front of "File on hard drive:"
- Click the button right next to it with the three dots "..."
- Now find wherever you saved the spray (NOTE: The file must be in in the .bmp format)
- Click Open
- Click Ok
- Now double click the little window with your spray in it. (Says LOGO right under it)
- Now you'll see a huge version of it.
- Click Colors -> Edit Palette...
- Select the Blue square on the bottum right side of the chart and hit Ok
- Close the huge version of the spray. It will ask if you want it to be saved, say YES.
- Click File -> Save As...
- Go to your cstrike folder. ( C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\*account name*\counter-strike\cstrike )
- Click the tempdecal file.
- Click Save. Hit yes to override it.
Now your done! You do the same process for any Steam Game, but in their own folders.
WARNING!!!: If you ever change anything in the Settings menu in the game, the spray will return to the normal one. If this happens just follow the steps above to get it back.
You can make your own sprays in Wally too, but I would suggest using a more powerful program such as Paint Shop Pro 8 or Adobe Elements 2.0. Just make sure once you made the spray in a sperate program you save it as .bmp.
NOTE: There are size limitations for custom sprays in Steam games. Get the chart here. The chart is at the bottum.
