summer arrives
Ater some typhoons coming near by and crossing over Japan, the temperature these days has been rising higher and higher. Cicadas started to cry, the cumulonimbus can be seen on sunny days and I am laying around lazily in my room with the air conditioner on at home. Air conditioners are very convenient. Just one push on the remote controller, and you can adjust the temperature in your room in anyway. I have used air conditioners since I was a kid, and I took it granted to be there. In fact, I can't imagine a life without any heater or air conditioners. But wait, let me stop and think about these useful tools. The air conditioners, sure, they make your room nice and cool, dry and comfortable, but at the cost of it, the machine exhales water and warm air. Aren't these making the weather worse? To put it in an extreme, aren't these one of the reasons for the global heat? Can we humans sacrifice all other things just for our selfish desire? Since I am a man, I can't help using air conditioners, but at least I can hold the temperature up to 28?C, and possibly that will help a little.. and I'm also planning to an electric fan. I hope these provisions are doing some help.

Whoever read this, why don't you stop and think a little about global heat? There must be something we can do.

a biometric passport?
I read this article for today's assignment.

On the article, it says that the Cabinet decided to start working on passports that contains biometric informations in small build-in chips on a passport. Biometric informations mentioned here, are fingerprints, irises and facial features. This system had attracted attention worldwide after the 9.11 terrorist attacks, to prevent the forge of passports of terrorist and illegally visiting foreigners. Although, there are some voices that taking such biometric informations is as treating people like criminals. In fact, it is true that a member of Al-Qaida-related group had been hiding in Japan for more than a year using a fake passport. Also, after the G-8 talks, the government proposed that fingerprints will be taken by visitors entering Japan, and the immigration controls will be tightened.

Reading this article, I agree in taking biometric informations, if they are only the things mentioned in the article. I would certainly not happy if detailed individual informations are taken, and so would most of people in the world. It can't be hepled to treat visitors like a criminal I guess, as long as terrorism and other crime are prevented. It wouldn't be comfortable to be taken fingerprints if not. I doubt that the biometric passports won't be forged. As long as these things are manmade, it's almost impossible to prevent forgeries. I hope that the new type of passports can't be duplicated easily.

blood types
Everyday, I see all sorts of fortune tellings on TV and magazines. Fortune tellings on constellations and blood types. Both of them seem to be suspicious to believe for me, but here I will just talk about blood types. Does blood type really have some kind of relation with thier characters?, I always wonder. Once I saw on TV that people tend to have same or close character as what blood type characteristic diagnosis says when they are babies. However, as people grow up, their character changes depending on the environment they live in. This has a little reliability, but still I can't believe. I took biology class in high school and learned a little about DNA and stuff, but I never thought that constituents of red blood corpuscle(the difference of blood type equals to the difference of construction of the red blood corpuscle) can change people's characters. In fact, my parents say that I didn't act like a blood type-O since I was a kid. So what I do with those fortune tellings is that I enjoy it like some kind of gamble. My conclusion is that you shouldn't care so much and feel negative about fortune tellings. Yes, have fun with it.

another sleepy day
Hello, today I read an online news(click here to read) about a man throwing a burning cigarette into a stroller where there was a baby inside.

>Why is this article considered appropriate for publication in an online newspaper?
I think, because this was such a horrible news, an adult throwing a cigarette into a baby car just because he was frustrated by the weather. In this case, the baby just got burnt by the cigarette, still it may be a serious injury for a four-months-year-old baby, but the baby could have been in even more serious trouble, such as losing it's sight.

>my reaction to it
This is a horrible incident. The man could have deprived it's sight from the innocent baby, because of his unappropriate behavior. He should be sorry for doing such a foolish thing, and also should be sorry for all smokers, to have brought down the status of other smokers. Though I don't like cigarette smokes, I don't care about people smoking as long as they take responsibility of their ownselves and keep the smoking manners. Such people who doesn't care about manners should be strictly banished.

very sleepy today..
obviously I should go to bed more earlier :p

about the article I read
my opininon to the article everyone (well I was absent, so I didn't read it with them) read in IES class.

Why Japan is so ignorant of terrorism? I think it's because Japanese got too accustomed to peacefulness. Although it's absoloutely not peaceful, Japanese has always wished for peace since WW II, and that desire has paralyzed our senses as if it is peaceful in Japan.
I think the bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were or were near to terrorism too.

Philip's IES class
Today I made a blog for my page. Before that, I uploaded my picture... but I think I will delete that. Probably I will put a different picture there.

I have to go to the dance circle today, however my body is still aching from the practice last week. It's obviously difficult to start something new.
