13/06/03 - Sorry there has been no updates for a while, but alas this is because NOTA is taking an indefinite hiatus from being a band. This is for a number of reasons that are far too boring to go into here, but we just thought we should formally apologize to the people who this will piss off, the label, the people who watched and enjoyed us.
We have recorded 5 new tracks which will be available from this site later in the summer, and we will be mastering a live set that was recorded of us recently for those who are interested in a copy (email us).
We will all be working on new/other projects, and we will endevour to keep people informed on this site.
In the meantime, thankyou for your continued interest and support...

08/05/03 - Thanks to people who came along last night to watch us supporting Two Day Rule at the Social. It could well be that Tim's arm is sorted now and gigs will no longer be cancelled at short notice. That means our next show is next Saturday...

Just got the latest review of the Vanity Rock split e.p. from those nice people at ukbase, and due to my recently increased computer skills here it is:

"None Of The Above / Swound - Split MCD
(7 Tracks CD, Vanity Rock Recording)
The 3rd release on Vanity Rock and easily the best so far. None Of The Above are from the Nottingham area and their last CDEP was impressive, though lacking in a little variety, well they've certainly done something about that now. All their 4 songs on this mix it up whilst staying in the boundaries of post hardcore, you can hear influences of early DC in there big time and it really works, though it took the 2nd listen to get what they're trying to do, as I wasn't prepared for the 'Scream' (Old DC band on Discord, went on to be in Wool and other stuff) style arrangement that they pull off really well. The heaviest track on hear 'Take One For the Team' is probably my favourite, it's even got a bit of metal lead in the bridge from the chorus back to the verse!! It's nice to see a band that wants to do it their own way and not fall into the trap of going along with the crowd.
Swound supply 3 more tracks and whilst their not up to the standard of NOTA their still ok pop rock with emo edges, and there's some good song structure in there tracks that keeps your interest, I especially like the crazy messed up back vocals on 'Kill America'.
This release is worth picking up for the NOTA tracks alone.

You can now download a track called The Greenbelt from the new VANITY ROCK SPLIT E.P, which can be ordered from the Vanity Rock Shop if you like what you hear. Tshirts are also available.
The first review of the e.p. has surfaced on Punknews, sure more will follow and we will keep you updated.
