Reginald James believes...
- That students with behavior problems should have three
strikes and they they are "out" and the others should be
segregated at Carter-Parramore school.
- That standardization of district procedures and
leading from the top down is wrong.
- That it's OK to campaign during paid work time.
Time that is paid by OUR taxes for the benefit of pregnant minority women.
- That it's OK to agree to debate the issues on local
cable television and then not show up.
Joseph Parramore believes...
- In dealing with behavioral problems head on.
Segregation of students with behavior problems into one location outside of
the mainstream does nothing to help the student. I believe in
providing the necessary services to deal with the root of the problem.
I believe in strict behavioral standards combined with in-school suspension
and detention programs. I will not reward bad behavior with days off
from school.
- We have gone the route of no leadership at the top for
nearly 20 years and where has it gotten us - a failing school
district. I believe the Superintendent, working with the Board, sets
the standard. Leaders lead by example and I WILL provide the
Leadership and Accountability you have demanded.
- Our children and citizens come first! For years
I have fought against elected officials who see our tax dollars and grant
funds as their own personal checkbook. That's one reason I have said,
"Watch who is walking the walk and not just talking the talk."
- I have welcomed the opportunity to debate the issues
and have been present at every forum because I feel it is my obligation to
you - the voter. I pose this question, "If a candidate will not
take the time to answer YOUR questions in a public forum of debate, should
you take the time to vote for them?"
