My name is Amanda Burgett and I'm 20 years old. I was born January 8, 1985 in Boaz, Alabama. I was adopted 3 days later by Janice and Gary Burgett and I've been with them ever since. I don't talk to my birth mother; due to her drugs, I feel she would only bring negativity into my life, and I don't need that. I have a total of 6 brothers, and 0 sisters. 2 of my brothers are my half brothers from my birth mother, 3 of my brothers are from my adoptive parents, and the last one was also adopted by my adoptive parents. It's complicated to understand and I too get confused. I currently attend Snead State Community College in Boaz, Alabama. I'm majoring in Computer Science Technology and will graduate from Snead in May with an Associates degree. In my spare time I enjoy going to church (Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Martling, AL), going out with my friends (Katie and Tracey), spending time with my fiancee (Greg), and playing World of Warcraft with Greg.
This is me and my fiancee, Greg. Greg and I have been together for over 5 years and we got
engaged on Christmas day 2004. We plan on getting married when I finish school and get a
decent job.
This is my baby, Zoe. She is a 2 year old Jack Russel Terrior.
This is my other baby, Hammy. This is an old picture of him. He is currently about
8 months old and is a mutt! We aren't positive what he is, but we do know his mother
was pekinese and he howls like a hound and walks like a bull dog, lol.
Weird combination, but he is still loved.
This is my mom, Janice. She is 62 years old. I love my mom with all my heart, she is
old fashioned in the way she dresses but is so modern day with her thoughts. She
understands everything I talk about and gives me advice on situations you wouldn't
normally talk to your mother about. She is the greatest mom in the world!
This is my dad, Gary. He is 56 years old and currently works at Bowater Lumber. He has
worked at Bowater Lumber for over 30 years, and is planning on retiring pretty soon. My
daddy is the craziest, goofiest, most stubborn man on earth. He doesn't care what people
think about him and he doesn't pretend to be something he's not. For instance, he rides
my little brothers bike down the road in the middle of Albertville, just to play with my
little brother and doesn't even think about how he looks. I admire that about him, but
sometimes it can be a little embarassing. He is the best dad ever, and has always provided
for our family no matter what it requires.
This is a very bad picture, but it's the only picture I had on my computer. These are 2 of
my 6 brothers. Shane (on the left) is 30 years old and works with my cousin building decks.
Terry (on the right) is 38 and is a truck driver; he just went back to high school and got
his diploma, so we are very proud of him.
This is my brother Gerry. Gerry is 36 and works in construction. He has a daughter (Brooke)
who is 8 months younger than me, which is scarey. Gerry thinks he is the hottest man on
and he wants to be a mixture of Jackie Chan/Brad Pitt/Ash from "The Crow".
This is my little brother Micheal. Micheal is 5 years old and is in kindegarden at Big
Spring Lake. He loves car racing games on PS2 and loves hotwheels. Micheal was also adopted.
This is my World of Warcraft character, Akena. I am currently a level 52 Human Priest on the
Malygos server.
