FateSenders

FateSenders, while labeled the tricksters of the Dream, do not by and large deserve their reputation. Perhaps this "distinction" was placed upon them for one colossal prank in the Chimeric Plane some time ago... FateSenders enjoy certain benefits and privileges, as well as many varied relations among the other foci. FateSenders, while they can easily claim to be repulsed by combat, seem to do extraordinarily well in both positions. As restore is a minor art, they can pick it up and play as a very effective sideliner.. restoring comrades, and continuously scaring those who oppose us. Even the average FateSender can keep someone scared for more than a minute straight. They are also good at indirect combat, with arts such as darkness and the feared RazorWind. As FateSenders are renowned for their trickery, they are also remarkably insightful, and adept at seeking it out. It is not rare that you should find FateSender's occupying some of the higher ranks in the diplomatic structure.. or playing in societies game.

Blind

Affected: One Target

Duration: 3 Seconds + 3 Seconds per Plateau

Description: This art will temporarily blind a dreamer, causing the view of their surroundings to become black as night.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research:

Art History: Baldazer sat in his study bent over his books, he flipped pages furiously, comparing page after page. He sat back, took of his glasses and laid them on the desk and rubbed his eyes. He had been working diligently on this new art for weeks and nothing was turning out right. Baldazer was a 6th Sphere FateSender, one of the well known in the city. Unlike many FateSenders he was more quite and reserved, the fire that burned within him was more of slow burn that rarely flared up, like it seemed to with most FateSenders. He sat back in his chair and glanced at the picture sitting on his desk. It was a sketch of his wife Isabella. The artist, a seer friend of his had given it to him the night he was granted his halo. It showed her standing by the fall in the Lambert sanctuary. Her auburn hair framed her pale face spotted with freckles. She was a beauty, some called her a "true" FateSender because she had the fiery locks and attitude that most would picture a FateSender to have. He picked up the sketch. The one thing he had liked so much about this portrait that it captured something that he had never seen on her face before. In the drawing her eyes stared straight back at you, showing life and sparkle. Isabella was blind. He remembered her when she first woke. Most pitied her, or at least tried. Isabella had fought against with everything she had. One poor dreamer had said "Oh you poor..".... That was all he had gotten out before Isabella had informed him that he would be one to feel sorry for if he cared to step outside and say that. And that had ended that. He closed his tired eyes and let the memories come back to him.

He had been wandering in the threshold pits one evening and came across a fiery looking soulsphere he immediately had evoked restore and instead of a thank you he got a scathing reply of how she didn't need anyone's help certainly not his! Instead of being miffed by her retort, he had laughed loudly and soon her laughter joined with his. She regained her coherence and introduced herself. He knew right away she was blind, and decided it would be best not to mention this. She sat down on the steps and sighed. "I'm just not getting this hunting thing.. I hear them when I enter and I try to aim.. "He sat beside her and looked at her.. her beauty dazzled him. "Maybe you should wait a little longer before you aim.. get your bearings a bit more?" he offered weakly. "That's really not a bad idea sir.." she replied. "Baldazer.. please call me Baldazer.." he smiled at her. "And I am Isabella.. but please call me Bella?" They spent the next hour discussing the dream and other pleasantries. The longer they sat there and the longer they talked he began admiring her zest for life and her unstoppable gumption. He offered to restore her while she tried hunting and to his surprise she agreed. They spent the rest of that dream and many others discovering ways to make her dream easier. She learned by waiting quietly after entering a room she could more easily detract the mares. He carved her a fine walking stick out of pine. The tap taping of the stick coming through threshold always made him smile. The trickiest thing was gen sitting. Finally they decided the best solution was to simply sit close by and count the minutes it took to gen.

She progressed quickly gaining arts and spheres at a rapid pace. It always seemed as if she was trying to prove something to everyone else. Of course he fell in love with her, who wouldn't. Behind her sarcastic humor was a gentle and loving person that he decided he couldn't live without. He only had to ask for her hand once. She gained her halo and they taught side by side. A few months after they were wed, he began to toy with creating a new art. One thing had always fascinated him. he had asked her once what it was like to be blind and she had replied "How does one who has never seen describe a tree or a smile?" But that question.. what was it like was never far from his mind. He began toying with he art scare.. he knew the key to scare was that it over rid common sense. what if he could trick a single particular sense? By summoning lucidity and using some of the same physics as scare Baldazer created "Blind" by in a sense "scaring" a dreamers aura into shutting down. In Blinds case, a persons vision. He couldn't wait to teach Bella she knew he had been locked in his study for days working on something. Finally he was ready. he led her into his study and sat her down. "What it is love?" She asked him curiously. He muttered a few archaic words under his breath and trained her. "What is this new power?" she asked shocked. "First, cast it on me Bella, please..." She started to argue but something inside of her. She summoned the fire within her soul and evoked the art on Baldazer. his senses stopped. darkness was everywhere. his wife's lovely face, gone from his view. Soon it faded, and Bella looked at him still questioning. He smiled at his wife, gathered her up in his arms and whispered, "I know now Bella, now I know..".

Darkness

Focus and Cost: FateSender Major - 25 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 50

Affected: Entire Room

Duration: 4 Seconds + 4 Seconds per Plateau

Description: Very similar to Blind. This art will cause an entire room to be blinded temporarily except for those in Party with the Evoker.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research:

Art History: A long time ago, somewhere between the ending of The Nightmare Wars, and the start of The Great Loss, Dreamers gathered around the many theories on the definition of Mares. These discussions on the subject of the Mares often ended in violence and sometimes even with one party getting collapsed. One Elder, a much respected DreamWright called Sinvald, often found himself trying to end such dangerous discussions. One day he tried to stop 2 opponents dueling on beliefs, by evoking the Art of Blind on the stronger Dreamer, but that only made the weaker Dreamer take advantage of the situation. Luckily Sinvald was able to evoke Blind on him too, before it was to late. After giving both dreamers a word of advice, he thought of a way to stop such fights in a much more effective way: how about an Art that effects all present Dreamers? In his Study he worked hard to find exactly how he could concentrate the Art of Blind to affect more than 1dreamer at a time. He failed numerous times, but finally found the key to do just that. The first time he evoked the art; it affected not 1, but 6 Dreamers during a horrible and pointless fight to collapse. All 6 Dreamers were suddenly more occupied by the lack of sight than the thought of collapsing each other. So it was that the Art of Darkness was created, and added to the Major Arts of FateSenders

Deafen

Focus and Cost: FateSender Minor - 15 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 15 (Orbit 35 for non-focus)

Affected: One Target

Duration: 4 Seconds + 4 Seconds per Plateau

Listen to Deafen

Description: This art causes a dreamer to be deafened, rendering them unable to hear the spoken word of other dreamers, whether it is from their own avatar or another.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research: Deafen creates a temporary shell around the target which negates harmonic resonance (sound waves) from approaching the target. Sound directed towards the affected is nullified, causing deafening silence.

Art History: Deafen was originally uncovered in it's earliest form by Raeh T'nac. He was a great FateSender and later aided greatly in the Knowledge that led up to the Art of Forge Talisman, specifically the Lucidity talismans. He often spent days upon days dreaming solid. Furthering his research- It was on one of these such days when he was analyzing and practicing his Trail Art as he had gotten bored with nothing new developing. In the middle of one of it's castings, his wife walked in, and began nagging that he forgot to clean up his laboratory. He thought silently to himself, that he would do absolutely anything to stop hearing her incessant nagging. Suddenly, the evocation of the art went wild, and a Trail crystal enveloped around him-and he found he couldn't hear or see a thing. And so- Deafen was on it's way. He researched this odd effect for many years, but found this odd combination of Art to affect only the caster. Thankfully, many years after his death, another dreamer of unknown name managed to separate an Art from this gone-awry Trail.....Deafen..... He designed safeguards to ensure that one could not make himself deaf...This art works for the same reasons the gone awry one did however. When it is cast, an invisible crystal of Lucidity surrounds the target, barring all sound from entering. The Final development in Deafen occurred after the Dreamer Wars during the enforce "peace" of DreamStrike...and was used against dreamers who entered houses chameled.

Notes: At higher levels, this art will prohibit a deafened dreamer from even talking (heresy)

FateSlayer

Focus and Cost: FateSender Major - 5 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: N/A (Given)

Affected: Evoker

Duration: 10 minutes + 10 minutes per plateau

Description: This art is a very rudimentary form of 'Forge Talisman' that creates a basic weapon called the FateSlayer. The blade is the primary close combat weapon of a FateSender (as are variants of this weapon for other arts).

Plateau Effect: For each level this art is Plateaued, casting time reduces, blade duration increases, and the damage associated with it grows, as shown in the following table:

Plateau Damage
0 - 9 1 - 4
10 - 19 2 - 6
20 - 29 5 - 10
30 - 39 7 - 12
40 - 49 7 - 18
50 - 59 9 - 23
60 - 69 9 - 28
70 - 79 11 - 30

Art Research:

Art History: A DreamWright by the name of Aeson Lore and his younger brother Caidon, who was apprenticing under him, are credited with the creation of the first blade that we all use. The FateSender brothers were as close as two could be, the younger looking up to the elder at all times, as their father had past long before. Aeson loved to give his brother the hardest tasks that he could think of, all to train Caidon to be his successor, and surpass even his own works. He had given Caidon a task, to find useful items in Cloudsbreak, which would be of use to the citizens of the dream, and attempt to recreate them using the elements his coherence and soul commanded. Caidon then set out to try to make his brother as proud of him as he could. He talked to so many inhabitants of the dream, and searched and searched for insight into his quest. He came back to his brother, empty-handed…but with an idea. His journeys had brought him to see that of all the things dreamers had… the one thing they could actually use was a weapon of defense, as he had been attacked by nightmares in his journeys several times, with not much to aid him battle the Entropy Coalitions mistakes.

They came to the conclusion, that the weapon had to be strong, light, and able to be used by all. The two of them worked on this idea for several months, without much rest. Aeson and Caidon brought forth to the dream public some time later, a show of defensive power unmatched before. They were able to call forth a scimitar-like blade, made of complete lucidity, which was their strongest element. They taught the people how to evoke such an item, and to wield it best as possible. A problem was noticed however, that only the FateSenders of the dream were able to keep such a weapon for long periods of time, and it was not very strong for any other foci. In fact, the other foci had blades that were actually next to useless, providing just enough protection to defend themselves to run, and escape collapse. The two brothers never fixed this problem, as they went on to succeed in other things, thinking that their contribution had been made, and others would perfect it.

Alternate History: The Art of FlameRuin is an Art which creates a projectile called a Flame, or a Bolt. It was stumbled upon by a benevolent Dreamer named Ignicolist. Ignicolist, which means Fire Worshipper, was a normal man, who lived a normal life.

Once, when he was a boy, he accidentally placed his hand in a fire, and hence was Named.

Soon after his Accident and his Naming, Ignicolist was apprenticed to a DreamWright, despite his young age. His parents, and the Dreamwright believed that age was not a factor in determining experience, nor was it a quantitative measure of determining whether on was capable of great things.

Then came the Great Loss.

Ignicolist had not learned anything of importance in his time spent in the Dream as apprentice to the Dreamwright. His Fate was sealed, however, and after the Great Loss he was destined to never Dream again.

While in Cloudsbreak, Ignicolist studied an worked on his Arts, known as Science. As an apothecary, he studied the elements of Helium and Oxygen, things that are not even known in the Dream, where all is made of Resilience, Lucidity, and Willpower. Ignicolist longed very much to be a part of a Dream and retain his Lucid Arts. This caused him to study most closely a substance known as Water.

Water had the unique property of corroding all substances placed in it. Stone, metal -- all was in some way worn down by Water's presence.

Even Sodium was worn down by water, but its reaction was something more like an explosion, rather than erosion.

Sodium and Water, when combined produced a great explosion as heat was created. Ignicolist, using his skill as an apothecary, began to perfect what he called an Art. Eventually, he had perfected it -- the Flame from the reaction could be channeled by the combined use of the Will, and the Lucid elements of the Dream.

Gatekeepers are the warriors of the Dream, and hence the Flame can be used for War. Fatesenders are the tricksters of the Dream, and hence the Flame can confuse other Dreamers, or play practical jokes, such as Fireworks.

The Art was carried into the Dream by Ignicolist's son, when Ignicolist was very old. The Son soon became a very powerful Dreamer, as aided by the Lucid Art of FlameRuin. Using his power, the Son pulled his Father into a state residing between the Dream and Cloudsbreak, known as Cyberspace. Sometimes, Ignicolist can be seen in some Room called the Alliance of the Eclipse, in a stange chaotic, unreliable realm called MPlayer. He also corresponds on the Alliance's private family WebPage.

Some say that he even possesses other Dreamers and enters the Dream under a variety of names, such as NightLite.

Art Research:

Art History: A long time ago, the Great DreamSmith Brinthax Chorit was studying the work of his old friend, Balthus the elder DreamSmith. During his research he came upon an old unfinished scroll with the basics and ideas for the art of FlameRuin. He saw how Balthus had been so focused on getting revenge on the Dreamers who had laughed at him, that he missed the greater potential for a much more powerful Art. For months on end, Brinthax worked day and night in his study to finish an art that would damage all present dreamers that weren’t joined with him. He had in the process burned his own face in horrible scars, and killed his pet tiger, but this didn’t stop his research. Finally one day he had created a new Art that would work as he had hoped for. Almost insane by the creation of such a powerful dream-weapon he took his apprentice, a young FateSender named Wolrik, on a hunt for mares he could collapse with his new Art. He got more than he had hoped for however, as he fell into a pit with 5 Horrons. He evoked his new Art for the first time in desperate action. Wolrik watched as the Horrons screamed in pain before they finally shredded and collapsed his master. That was the last time Wolrik saw Brinthax. From what he had seen as the battle raged, Wolrik was able himself to learn and then Teach FireStorm to other Dreamers worthy of it.

Art Research:

Art History: The art of FlameRuin was one of the late DreamSmith Balthus' most erratic works. Originally intended to create a small spark (for lighting the pipes he was most fond of) he accidentally created a raging ball of flame, which promptly burnt off what little hair he had. Not to be deterred by the numerous jests and laughter, the master worked day and night in his study, slowly refining the flame to become what it is today, concentrated and ranged. It is rumored he was able to burn 5 senior DreamWrights hair off before escaping, laughing madly. He also later shared his research with his good friend Tenrik, who went on to develop FlameSear.

Hypnotic Weave

Focus and Cost: FateSender Major - 40 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 60

Affected: Entire room.

Duration: 4 seconds + 4 seconds per Plateau

Description: Paralyze everybody in a room.

Plateau Effects:  Evoking time decreases.

Art Research:

Art History: There once was a FateSender Teacher who gathered many students about him. His time came before the Great Fall and he was DreamStruck by those trying to rid the city of war. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. His name was Terren Faul.

He was one of the higher FateSender teachers and constantly looked for ways to improve Paralyze ever since he learned it. He was subject to many fated attacks by Tehthu and his armies. This enraged him so much that so many mares would come into the dream at once and he was but one lone FateSender in a room full of floating other focus dreamers. In desperation one day he Soul Evoked and began using Paralyze and trying to weave a bit of DreamSoul into the art. Suddenly, everyone in the room stopped to look at what he was doing because his Soul Sphere was bouncing between coherence and Soul Sphere. It was almost a dance and looked as if he was reducing himself to nothing. All gazed in wonder at this incredible sight! As they did, Terren managed to cause the art he was weaving to reflect off all their eyes and a form of hypnosis ensnared for both dreamer and mare alike. Those who were protected with Free Action immediately noticed the arts hostility and aggressiveness and the battle began anew but with one new addition, Hypnotic Weave.

One day following the cataclysm that caused the houses to crumble, this art’s history was discovered by a group of FateSenders along with information above about its creator within a small cache in The Library of Souls. It was lost to the dream since the Great Loss until that day. The ones who found the history and formula, quickly and with resolve, learned the art in effort to stem the damage being done to the city by Dakotes, but alas it seemingly doesn’t effect them as their breed is mixed an wasn’t around that fateful warring day the art was created.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research:

Art History: A close associate of Renrut Nek, T'Kaa was a healer of sorts, having studied the SoulMaster Arts to a level nearly equal to his own focus. In particular, he made it his field of study to take care of those with debilitate afflictions - such as paraplegics and those with arthritis and diseases of the bone. He was curious to know why these illnesses affected avatars, who he believed should have no reason why they should not be perfect. After some investigation he was surprised to find that some of those paralyzed in the dream, were perfectly healthy in Cloudsbreak. Like wise some normal in the dream were afflicted in the waking world. He studied this and found there was one of three sections in a dreamers mind that may cause paralysis. He rounded up some of his friends and worked his prototype art on the three of them. The first subject began to talk an endless stream of chatter and stopped 2 sec later. The second immediately fell to the ground - devoid of any sense of balance, which also passed after 2 seconds. Fearing that his art would not work at all, T'Kaa quickly evoked on the third subject who was already stammering excuses about leaving his oven on. After the evocation was complete, the 3rd dreamer stopped mid sentence and stood stock still, and paralysis as an art was found.

Art Research:

Art History: In the beginning of the Great Loss, Wolrik the DreamWright, used all his time studying the work of his late master, the DreamSmith Brinthax. Wolrik especially focused his attention on the art of Firestorm, the art that haunted his mind over and over, as he saw his master been ripped to pieces by Horrons, the day the art was formed. Wolrik had mastered this art to perfection, he knew it better that anyone, and wanted to improve it further, as his master had done with FlameRuin.

Wolrik used several weeks trying to improve the force of the art, but eventually had to give it up, as he saw that the work of his master was more than perfect in it self. Wolrik was devastated, he saw himself as a failure, and began to alienate himself from all he knew.

Mean while the chaos surrounding his chamber began to spread more and more.Wolrik saw how panic followed. Looking at this madness, he realized that the logic in his studies was the wrong approach to improve Firestorm, and a chaotic plan began to form inside his head. With the knowledge and experience of Firestorm, Wolrik started all over, forming his own art from the dream fabric. Outside his chamber Chaos was growing stronger.

Time went and Wolrik finally finished his masterpiece, he had gone further than any other before him, he had created the great and powerful art of RazorWind. An art much like Firestorm but much stronger and effective.

Wolrik was excited and happy, and wished to share it with someone. Not knowing that the chaos was taking the last remains of the City, Wolrik tried to leave his chamber through a portal. In less than a second his Avatar was blown to pieces by the chaotic consciousness raging through, the Great Loss was a reality.

The Art of RazorWind was later discovered by the first new dreamers entering the remains of the Dream City..

Scare

Focus and Cost: FateSender Minor - 5 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 10 (Orbit 30 for non-focus)

Affected: One target

Duration: 4 seconds + 4 seconds per plateau

Description: Causes an avatar to flee, running uncontrollably in fear.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research:

Art History: The Art of Scare was unheard of before the Nightmare Wars, as, since there was no real death, and little pain, there was not much to be scared of. This Art was a direct benefit of studying the 'mares, specifically the Feator, who sometimes displayed an uncanny knack with it. One particularly enterprising FreeSpirit, Cedric the Swift (he ran away a lot), decided to study this race of 'mares, down to the most intricate details. In it, he found the source of their scaring abilities. It turns out, that they use the one thing any rational being would be afraid of... a glimpse at Pure Chaos. They hold only a tiny fraction of it within them, but when they display it, even those most powerful Dreamers feel a twinge of terror. After consulting several other scholars, Cedric finally developed the Art of Scare, which, when evoked, gives the target Dreamer a glimpse at what awaits us beyond our Walls, with much the same effects. Fortunately, Cedric was always a bit careless with his discoveries, so after a while of "playing", Resist Fear was also developed.

Description: This art causes a dreamer to shudder uncontrollably, diminishing their actions to that of a drunken stupor.

Plateau Effect: Evocation time decreases; Duration increases.

Art Research:

Art History: A sturdy barkeep that ran the Ruby Ball Tavern, T'Lrek was renowned for his ales. T'Lrek encouraged bards of any type to visit his abode and it was not uncommon to see him goading 4 or more bards into performing in an evening. On one such night, when there were no less than 5 separate bards waiting to display their skills... one complained of a very sore throat. Smiling to himself, T'Lrek brought out a flagon of his stoutest brew, something which bards were renowned to have mysteriously clear up there throat and tongues. After drinking it, the bard in question remained standing, but wildly wobbled from side to side, shoving and flailing, the effect lasting a few moments. Intrigued by the sensation, he requested another, experiencing the same effect - soon everyone was requesting the brew and were staggering around the room. T'Lrek examined the ale and found that under certain conditions, and judicious application of heat, the ale would ferment into something more than ale. Showing this to his wife, a DreamWright of some repute, he asked if it could be useful to his focus. Agreeing, Jacelyn helped drain the essence of the ale into a new major art for FateSenders - Stagger.

Terror

Focus and Cost: FateSender Major - 40 Lucidity

Orbit Acquired: Orbit 60

Affected: Entire room except those in party with Evoker

Duration: 4 seconds + 4 seconds per Plateau

Description: Scare everybody in a room.

Plateau Effects: Increase duration of Art

Art Research:

Art History: The art of Terror was created during the making of the planes of Underlight. A dreamer named MarKora was the creator of this art. MarKora was a PlainSmith, but did not enjoy working with other dreamers and was reluctant to give or to take advice. Rumor has it that this dreamer was so reclusive in his studies and in his craftsmanship that he would attack any dreamer that disturbed him. On one occasion a young dreamer by the name of Louden came across MarKora and was attacked. He ran in fear and bolted from MarKora and was never seen again. MarKora, taking notice of the effect of fear drew up a plan. At a later period, several dreamers attempted to threaten the Plainsmith into leaving the dream. MarKora, who had just been studying in the paths of madness, used the vast Lucidity within him, and mixed it with the ambient dreamsoul that is possessed with each dreamer in the room, which had hallucinogenic qualities. His intent was to merely scare away any dreamers who tried to interrupt his work. Oddly though, this caused the dreamers in the room to run in fear of their own evil doings in the forms of apparitions. The apparitions were those of dreamers who had been destroyed in the making of the dream, or who were hurt or banished by other dreamers. These apparitions were evil to look on with pale, deathly faces. The dreamers ran from portal to portal screaming and running for dear life, but were unable to escape the terror in the room as they kept appearing in the same room with MarKora still running throughout the room, laughing in their fear. One of these dreamers was a FateSender who had great sway over many dreamers, observed the fashion of the art. He was unable to conjure forth apparitions, but was able to instill fear on other dreamers by causing the hallucinogenic qualities used by MarKora. This dreamer, Quearl, was able to use the art on other dreamers provided they were not able to block the lucidity. Quearl taught this art to several high level FateSender in an attempt to thwart MarKora. MarKora was attacked by a party of 5 FateSender, and evoked the art on him. Somehow, the strength of the 5 FateSender was able to reproduce the same level of terror that MarKora was able to produce. The past sins and violent history of MarKora led to a shock so deep within his soul that MarKora was one of the few dreamers in the history of Underlight to experience a “true” death without being DreamStruck. Quearl passed on the knowledge of this art to his student, and though the art has never been as potent as it once was, the art still remains today almost true to form.

Art Research:

Art History: The Art of Trail was created by two dreamers named Hans'ell and Greh'tall. Hans'ell was a dreamer who liked to explore, but always got lost, in search of finding someplace new to explore. Greh'tall was his younger sister who would always end up in search of her brother Hans'ell. Hans'ell would get lost so consistently, that Greh'tall eventually became frustrated, and would no longer come looking for him, being the stubborn Gatekeeper that she was. Hans'ell would eventually get lost, and despite her wishes, Greh'tall would end up searching out her brother. Greh'tall had a smart idea for her trouble-making FateSender of a brother. She gave him a loaf of stale bread, and made him drop it wherever he went so he could find his way back. This worked until a dark-mare stumbled upon the trail that Hans'ell had dropped. the Dark-mare followed the trail of bread-crumbs up to where Hans'ell was exploring the rock formations in the Valley of Totality, and collapsed him. Hans'ell came back home floating, much to the dismay of Greh'tall. So Hans'ell decided that he didn't like the idea of people being able to find him. Hans'ell gathered up the lucidity bound within him, and formed small emeralds out of the ground, and used his ability to blind others, to cast a haze around the stones so that none but himself, were able to see the stones. The only person who was able to find him after that was Greh'tall. Sadly, Hans'ell and Greh'tall were lost to the dream shortly after teaching this ability to a few friends, as Hans'ell wandered far into the rift, and Greh'tall went after him.

Alternate History: The art of Trail was created by Tengam. Like most people he easily got lost. So he figured the next time our on a travel he would use codex's and drop one every ten feet. After around a half an hour of exploring he ran into an Emphant. Like always he evoked his blade and defeated the Emphant. As He looked at his blade, he wondered if there was a way that he could create something that would evoke so he wouldn't have to stop and create a codex a drop it on the ground every ten feet. So he went and studied how his blade was evoked. After many weeks of studying how it is evoked he added some of his own ideas and then he came up with a glowing diamond shape that automatically would drop every ten feet. When we was done all he had to do was evoke the art again and then the Trail would disappear. And so the art of Trail was created.

Notes: The reason a dreamer is unable to maintain his or her trail across plains, is that it is next to impossible to concentrate on more than one plain at a time to keep the Crystals viable. As all the plains are so vast, it would be quite difficult to maintain where one was going, and where one was at the same time in one plain, let alone several.
