ALASKA The trip of our life time-2002

Listening to people over the years described the beauty of Alaska from their visits we were prepared to be a tad disappointed. What we discovered during our visit was a land of "knock your socks off" beauty beyond description.Words such as unbelievable, tremendous, awesome, indescribable, or others we might choose would never begin to describe the sights. I am very sorry that our photos will not convey the beauty of Alaska. And huge! If Alaska was to be divided in half, Texas would then be the third largest state. (click for larger view)

Our Alaska Land tour destinations
Alaska has a population of 600,000 + and almost 1/2 of that number live in Anchorage.
Over 500,000 tourist visit the state each year
And a surprise to me; more people are killed in Alaska by moose than by bears

It is said the state of Delaware would fit inside city limits of Anchorage
