~*~*~*~ Chapter 5~*~*~*~

The signing finally ended. All five guys stayed until every single person got what they came to get.

"Dude, you talk to Kylie?" Matt asked Chris.

"She gave me her number. She and her friends are on a road trip and they're gonna meet up with us in Trenton."

"Well, aren't you gonna call her? Maybe they could come with us, like she could go on the bus and I could go in their car." Greg suggested. He liked the idea of being in a car with three other girls.

"Umm ... I'm not too sure about that, Greg," Chris laughed. "But I'll call her." he searched his pockets until he found the gum wrapper with Kylie's number on it.

"A gum wrapper?!" Frankie and Greg laughed.

"Hey, it's better than nothing!
The girls were in their car and were already on their way to Trenton. The sounds of other cards honking at them could not be heard because the music was blaring so loud.
Chris found his cell phone and dialed Kylie's number. It was ringing but she wasn't picking up. Oh, please pick up, please pick up, he thought. Still, nobody picked up.

Then her voicemail came on - "Hey, wazaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Leave me a message and I'll get back to ya lata .... lates!"

Chris laughed at how retarded she sounded at times. He let out a sigh and decided to leave her a message anyway. Like he told the guys, hey, it's better than nothing.

"Kylie, hey! It's Chris. I just wanted to see if you wanted to do anything before we went to Trenton, but I guess you're probably on your way there or something. So umm ... just call me back. my number's 843 - 3269. Yeah ... bye!"

Chris hung up and put the phone back in his pocket. Walking out of the store, he decided to get some fresh air before they left.

"Chris! Come on, dude ... we gotta get goin." Jesse ran to catch up with his friend. Chris turned around and together they walked towards the bus.
"Hmm ... I wonder who called me at first." Kylie said. They were at a gas station; their tank was almost completely empty.

"Maybe it was Chris." McKenzie walked out of the small convenience store with her arm full of junk food.

Kylie shushed everybody as she listened to her message from Chris. She was so happy that he actually called. Most guys who said they'd call never did. While dialing his number to call him back, she tried to think of something to say to him. There was no answer and finally after the fifth ring, his voicemail came on.

"Hey, Chris! It's Kylie. Just got your message. Umm ... we're almost in Trenton. What hotel are you guys staying at? Who knows, maybe we'll be in the same one like the last time. So yeah, when you get this, call me back. Later."

"What hotel are you staying at?!! You need help! What are you trying to do to the poor guy?!" Kori laughed.

"Nothing ... yet!" Kylie joked. The four friends got back in the car and continued on their way to Trenton. They finally got there in a few hours and checked into yet another hotel.
Chris noticed he had a new message. Smart, Chris. You forgot to turn on your phone in case she called you back. He listened to what she said and smiled when he heard her voice. Glancing at his watch, Chris wondered if it was too late to call her back because she might be sleeping. It was pretty late, but he wanted to talk to her so bad. Once again, he dialed her number, waited after a few rings and almost hung up, but she answered.

"Hello?" Kylie had been sleeping.

"Hey, sorry. Were you sleeping?" he felt guilty now for waking her up.

"No, no. Of course not, always sound like this when I answer the phone."

At least she still has her sense of humor, Chris thought.

"So, what's up?"

"Nothing, all the guys are sleeping. Greg's snoring is driving me nuts."

"Yeah, everyone else is sleeping too. Becca's snoring too! I just wanna stuff a sock in her mouth right about now. Hey, maybe Greg and Becca would make the perfect couple, ya think?" They both laughed.

"Are you in Trenton yet?"

"Almost ... in like maybe half an hour or so." He wanted to ask her out so badly.

"Hey, umm ... I know I would much rather do this in person but uhh ... are you doing anything tomorrow?"

"Nope!" Crossing her fingers, Kylie hoped he was going to ask her out.

"Well, I was kinda wondering if you'd like to do something."

"You mean like a date?"

"No, I mean like a birthday party for my dog." he laughed. "Yeah, like a date."

"Sure, that'd be great!" Chris was so relieved when he heard her answer.

"Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!" Kylie whispered.

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing." she slapped her forehead. Nice, real nice.

o "How about I meet you at the hotel and we'll chill the whole day?"

"Okay, great!" Kylie gave him the address to the hotel she was staying at.

"Well, I'll let you get back to sleeping." he laughed.

"Okay, see ya tomorrow!"

"You too, sweet dreams." She must think I'm such a dork right about now, he thought. Sweet dreams ... who says that?!

Awwww, that's sweet, Kylie thought. "You'll be in my dreams." she said out loud. Damn, that got mixed up!!!

"What'd you say?" Chris couldn't see it but she was hitting herself again.

"Oh, nothing." she replied.

"Okay then, see ya!"

"Bye!" Kylie couldn't believe what just happened. She jumped on her bed and ran around the room like a crazy person. She had to hop over all the luggage. Kylie wanted to be careful not to trip over anything, again.
"So Greg snores, huh?" Greg asked Chris after he hung up with Kylie.

Chris laughed. "Uhh .. yeah, we taped you once, remember?"

Greg laughed. "Oh yeah, I remember that. So what happened?"

"I asked her out."

"What'd she say?"

"Yeah."

"YEAH! Dude, cool!!!!!!" Greg said loudly. The other guys awoke when they heard him.

"Greg, shut up!!!!" they all said together. Chris laughed. Greg finally went back to sleep, but Chris couldn't sleep. He was too nervous and anxious about his date with Kylie.
