~*~*~*~ Chapter 1~*~*~*~
~ "Eeeeeeeeeeee! Ahhhhhhh! Road trip! Summer is FINALLY here!" the joyful screams of Kyle could be heard miles away. Summer vacation had just begun and Kylie and her best friends, McKenzie, Kori, and Becca were going on a road trip. They all agreed that it was going to be a summer full of excitement and adventures.

~ “You guys all packed and ready to go?” Kori asked.

~ “Yup!” Let’s get this show on the road!” McKenzie screamed. The girls threw their bags in the trunk of Kori’s shiny, red car. They jumped into the car, pulled out of the driveway and at last, they hit the open road. None of them had any idea where they were headed; they had no intentional destination.

~ “I can’t believe it. We’re actually doing this. No parents or anything, it’s just us.” Kylie said. “Turn on the radio, we need some music!” Becca turned on the radio and the sounds of the Backstreet Boys were heard. All girls began singing to the song, then the song ended and an unfamiliar tune came on. “. . .There’s somethin about me, that you don’t know about; I’m someone that somehow you seem to be without. . .” the unfamiliar voice sang.

~ “My gosh, who are they?” Becca asked. The rest of the girls shrugged.

~“I’m not sure, but can you PLEASE change it to something we know?” Kylie begged.

~ The girls had been driving for hours. They stopped every once in a while to get gas, stop for food, stretch or to use the bathroom. They had no idea where they were and it seemed like they were the only car driving on the empty highway. Finally, Kylie saw a sign that read ‘ Welcome to Pine Valley.’

~ “I guess we’re in Pine Valley.” McKenzie laughed. They drove around for a few more minutes until they found a place to rest and to spend the night. They finally found a small hotel that looked at least somewhat decent and pulled into the parking lot.

~ “Whew, I thought we were never gonna get out of the car. It’s like we’ve been in there the whole day.” McKenzie complained as she stretched her legs.

~ “We have been in there the whole day!” Kylie said. “Dang . . . my butt hurts like hell.” All the girls cracked up. They pulled their things out of the trunk and carried it inside the hotel. They got two rooms that joined together.

~ “You guys go up first, I’ll meet you up there. I wanna look around.” Kylie told her friends. She wandered around and found the outdoor pool. In the pool, there were a lot of hot guys. Wow, she thought to herself, I think I’m gonna like it here. Kylie yawned and decided it was time to go to her room. She got in the elevator and starting humming that song she heard earlier on the radio. Man, she thought, that stupid song has been stuck in my head the entire day. While mumbling something to herself, she gently pressed the button that had the number three written on it.

~ When she reached the third floor, she stepped out of the elevator and dragged her bag along with her. Kylie fumbled around in her messy messenger bag for the key McKenzie gave her for the room. She obviously wasn’t paying any attention whatsoever about her surroundings, because she tripped over something and fell flat on her face.
