Taylor Begins her journey by stepping into one of these. She buys a well worn Volkswagen Beetle that is probably similar in appearance to this one. According to the novel it has no starter so she must push start the car by rolling it then letting the clutch out. (I found it interesting that in a later chapter she gets it "jumped off"-no matter how much electricity you run through a car, if it doesn't have a starter it's not going to start. Just thought that was an interesting mistake in the novel)
