Mission Statement


ASAM Region VII is a regional branch of a national organization, The American Society of Addiction Medicine. The Region is composed of five individual chapters - Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Midwest (Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri). Our mission is to improve the quality of and access to addictions treatment through the education of physicians and other medical professionals, and through the study of recent research in the field. A further goal is to promote parity, non-discrimination in health coverage, in order to provide effective treatment for those who suffer from the disease of addiction.
