A Slayer's Angel

“Pain and Anger”

It was hard for me to see her with him. Why did she have to be with him tonight? All I wanted to do, was see her face. But not his. I was pretty far from the corridor of Buffy’s college, where Riley and Buffy were hugging and talking. I thought to myself, does he know who she is? And If so, has that strengthened their relationship. I almost came out of the darkness, and into that corridor. I wanted to rip Riley out of the clutches of my girl. But, it was my decision to stay in the darkness. I came to the question yet again, of whether she’s happy or not? At first glance, it looks as though she is.

“She’s not you know,” a voice echoed from behind me. “ Happy.”

I knew exactly who it was from the first statement. It was OZ. “ I said not what Oz? And how’d you know I was here.”

Oz looked at Buffy and Riley just like I was, and said, “I didn’t really. I could smell something lurking over here. I quietly walked over here and saw it was you. You know the whole wearwolf thing.”

I watched as Buffy and this guy, walked out of the corridor and into the direction of the dorm rooms. Then I turned and faced Oz and asked, “You said she’s not happy, Why not Oz?”

Oz watched as the two made their way to the dorm rooms, then responded, “All I know is from what Willow told me. You know Buffy keeps to herself a lot. Anyway, she has been very distant, there was an incident with another guy, who treated her terrible, but I don’t think that’s the only thing.”

“What do you mean Oz,” I asked.

“Willow could probably explain it better Angel,” Oz told me. “If you want you could go up with me, I was just on my way to see Willow.”

“I think it would be best for my presence to be kept quiet,” I replied. “At least for the time being.”

Oz smiled and began to walk away. As he was heading to Willow’s he said to me, “It’s good for you to be back Angel. I hope it’s for more than a little while.”

I paused for a second and could feel my heart begin to beat faster. I then replied, “Me to Oz. That just depends on whether or not she’s still my girl.”

Oz nodded his head in agreement and walked away. I turned away from the school and began walking away as well. But something made me stay. I could sense something was going to happen. I decided to make a sweep of the campus. And sure enough, I didn’t have to go far to find the trouble that I was looking for. There he was standing and looking down on the corridor where Buffy and Riley had been talking. I walked over there and grabbed him and angrily yelled, “What the hell are you doing back?”
