A Slayer's Angel

Spike and I followed Faith as she strode back into Sunnydale. I kept glimpsing over at Spike, ans saw that he was completely infatuated with Faith. He was looking at every feature of her body. But, can you blame the poor vampire, she is downright gorgeous.

Any way, we thought we were following Faith to her destination, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I guess she could feel Spike's gawk, because she stopped and turned around. Spike and I quickly flew into the nearest shadows we could find.

"Wow," Faith uttered as she started walking back towards us, then sarcastically continued. "A welcome back party. That's so sweet. Why don't you come out and I'll show you how much I appreciate the gesture."

When Spike and I didn't move out on her command, she became a little angry, "What, do you think I'm some ordinary helpless woman, that I can't come and find you. I'm the slayer! Why don't you make it easy on all of us. Come on out before I get more angry."

I could've stayed in the darkness for a little while longer, because I know Faith and she would've turned around and started walking towards her destination. Unfortunately, I didn't get that opportunity. Spike flew out from his spot in the darkness. He was so eager to make Faith's acquaintance.

"My, My," Spike began as he slowly crept closer to Faith. "The slayer! How many times have I heard that. But this slayer is different! There's something about you that's not right. And I definitely like it."

Spike was now face to face with Faith. She looked him over and responded to his statement, "Oh yeah! There's definitely something different about me. But it's not what you think stranger."

"Oh yeah, what's is it love," Spike responded while smiling from ear to ear.

"THIS," Faith belted out as she quickly grabbed a stake, which was conveniently hiding on her back underneath her tight leather jacket, and lunged after Spike in an attempt to stake him in the heart. But, before she could get close to his heart, Spike knocked the stake from her hand, then forcefully threw a right hook to Faith's abdomen. They both fell to the ground in agony. Spike grabbing his head and screaming, while Faith clutched her stomach and gasped for air.

I decided it'd be best for me to stop this little scuffle before it became something bigger. "Damn it Spike," I said as I approached the two woozy fighters, "Why the hell didn't you just hold your position? You never did follow my lead."

"I had to be assertive Angel," Spike replied as he shook his head in an attempt to clear the cobwebs. "That's what women like."

Faith looked at Spike and smiled. Then turned her attention to me and said, "Angel! What are you doing back here? I thought you were staying in Los Angeles."

"I thought so too," Spike blurted out.

"Shut up Spike," I said, then asked Faith a question, so I could deflect her question, "The last time I saw you Faith, you were on Buffy's hit list. What are you doing back.?"

"Very clever Angel, Faith responded. "Nice job of not answering my question, but that's cool, I know what's up. You've come back to be Buffy."

As soon as Faith said Buffy, Spike started laughing, then said, "Yeah, you got the first part right love, he's come back alright, but unfortunately our little not to Buffy. He's come back to see his precious girl bedding with another gentleman."

Spike was really pushing his luck. I almost knocked him out. Faith saw that I was annoyed with Spike, so she chimed in on him, "Who the hell are you. Some kind of lackey or something?"

Spike stood straight up when he heard the disrespect in Faith's response. Faith was overwhelmed by the bravado that emulated off of Spike when he stopped smiling and got serious. "That's it tough guy. I can see now, there's more to you then meets the eye."

Suddenly I was becoming sick. This whole flirting thing between the two was almost making me lose my evening pig's blood. So I decided to inquire yet again why Faith was back. Finally, she stopped the love affair with my lackey(I was laughing on the inside when she said that), and replied, "Something's brewing down here in Sunnydale. I heard about it in San Francisco. So I decided to come and check it out. Hell, I wasn't doing anything important anyway."

Spike smiled at Faith and murmured, "Right, did I tell you people refer to me as the big bad. In more ways than one!"

"Not now Spike," I uttered then asked, "What've you heard?"

"I don't know that much Angel," Faith began. "Only that some demon, who up until last night hadn't been heard from in a very long time, is back and planning to reek some havoc."

One thought crossed my mind as I listened to Faith response. 'Could it be? This soon?' I said to myself. I decided to ask if she knew this demons name.

When she responded, my thoughts were confirmed, "Gideon."
