AS A BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN

Q: Are you a born-again Christian, isn't it?

A: Yes, of course, I am a born-again Christian since when I was in Philippines on March 31, 1996. My aunt, Mrs. Eliza Balajadia Dalacat, and her family convinced me many times to convert myself into a Christian. They are already born-again Christians for almost twenty years. Right now, they are trying to convince our other relatives and their friends to become born-again Christians.

Q: What is a born-again Christian?

A: For me, a born-again Christian is a person who already accept fully Jesus Christ as our savior and God. If you are a born-again Christian, you should not do any evil things anymore in order for us to receive more blessings and save us from the evil works of Satan and Lucifer.

Q: Is there a verse in the Bible about being a born-again Christian?

A: Yes, there are verses in the Bible about being a born-again Christian. In John 3:3 says that In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. Another in John 3:5-7 says that Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'" Both verses are NIV (New International Version).

Q: Most of born-again Christians don't have pilgrims or images, have they?

A: Yes, most of born-again Christians don't have pilgrims or images. There is a verse in the Bible about pilgrims or images. In Exodus 20:3-6 NIV says that "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments." When I was a Roman Catholic, we have lots of images and I am always praying the rosary and novenas of the saints. Now, after I converted myself into a born-again Christian, I am concentrating myself in the Bible and I am no longer praying the rosary and novenas to the saints.

Q: What motivates you to convert yourself into a born-again Christian?

A:I have a lot of bad experiences and I am a victim of faith healers and persons that transformed by the spirits of young Jesus Christ or Santo Niņo, Jesus Christ, and Mary to their body. I will tell my bad story so that these will not happen to everyone and to be aware of these evil persons. When I was in Philippines way back in 1993, I met the faith healers, namely as Danny Araullo of Tondo, Manila, Teresita "Baby" Dizon, and her daughter Dandan of Tugatog, Malabon, Rizal. I learned lately that they are evils because they are doing evils things in order for them to earn money and destroy the lives of other people. I met them thru their neighbor, Jon-jon Calupcupan of Tugatog, Malabon, Rizal in Philippines. I met Jon-jon Calupcupan thru our parish organization at San Roque Chruch in Caloocan City which is Mariology Class or Legion of Mary. He convinced me to go to Baby Dizon's house in order to talk to Jesus Christ and Mary thru the body of Danny Araullo and body of Dandan. I believed that the spirits of Jesus Christ and Mary are in their bodies because the voice of Jesus Christ and the voice of Mary are real. They promised me to bless me more and my family as well. Because of their promise, I gave them a trust fully. One day, Baby Dizon talked to me because Danny was looking for a place to stay and he had a problem with his family. She asked me to allow him to stay temporarily at my apartment in Caloocan City and give him a full trust. I didn't allow him to stay at my apartment because first of all I don't know him very well, he is from Tondo, Manila and people in Tondo, Manila are usually unprofessional, violent and robber. When the result of Board Examination in Chemical Engineering was released thru newspapers, my name was not included in the list of passed examinees meaning I failed in the examination. Baby Dizon and Danny Araullo visited me at my apartment and told me that it is a punishment by Jesus Christ and God the Father because I didn't trust Danny Araullo. Also, they told me that I will receive more punishments if I still doubt with Danny Araullo and especially if I will criticize them. I was very afraid at that time and finally, I allowed Danny Araullo to stay with me at my apartment temporarily. I talked to Jesus Christ and Mary often thru his body. Baby Dizon was also asking me an obligation to give donations by cash regularly for their chapel in Tugatog, Malabon, Rizal. After few months later, my relatives and neighbors in Caloocan City were criticizing me and making the gossips that I am a gay and I have an affair with Danny Araullo. They told to my parents in United States about the issue. My parents were decided to ask me to stay with my aunt's house in Caloocan City and leave the apartment. They contact our landlord, Mrs. Teodora Sison Nuqui, and requested to finish the contract immediately. My relatives inspected my apartment thru my parents' permission and they found out that my father's gun, Colt Revolver 45, is lost. The other things in the closet cabinets such as bed sheets and kitchen things are also lost. My parents and my brothers in United States were very mad because of the incident happened. I stayed with my aunt's house in Caloocan City after we brought our things in Baliwag, Bulacan. My mother has a relatives there. My relatives were looking for Danny Araullo in Tondo, Manila but unfortunately, Danny Araullo is not in his house often. They went to Danny Araullo's neighbors in Tondo, Manila to get the information about him. They found out that Danny Araullo is hustler, swindler, fool, robber, and has a lot of estafa cases in Metropolitan Manila Area. They went to Mrs. Teresita "Baby" Dizon's house in Tugatog, Malabon, Rizal to get the information about Danny Araullo and to find out about the transformation of the spirits of young Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, and Mary. Unfortunately, she denied about the transformation of the spirits of young Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, and Mary to her daughter Dandan Dizon. Also, she told to my relatives that she don't know Danny Araullo and she is not involved in the incident happened in my apartment. My relatives were very obvious about the behavior of Baby Dizon. They went to Baby Dizon's relatives and neighbors to get the information about her and her family. They found out that Baby Dizon is a black sheep in her family according to her brother and her mother. Her father was suffered from heart attack and died because of her evil attitudes. Baby Dizon is not legally married to Oscar Dizon. She and Oscar Dizon have their real spouse but they are already separated. Baby Dizon has three children from her original husband and three children from Oscar Dizon. Dandan Dizon is a daughter of Baby Dizon and Oscar Dizon. Her relatives and neighbors were surprised when they learned that Dandan Dizon is transformed by the spirits of young Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, and Mary. They were laughing and criticizing Baby Dizon because of her another evil activites. Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche, Baby Dizon's sister and a professor of Mapua Institute of Technology at Mechanical Engineering Department, gave them the warnings about the next evil activities of Baby Dizon. Baby Dizon is also swindler, liar, and has also a lot of estafa cases in Metropolitan Manila. She talked to my relatives that I must stay away with Baby Dizon and her desciples before it is too late.
One day, I went to Mapua Institute of Technology to talk to Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche of Mechanical Engineering Department about Baby Dizon. I decided to talk to Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche because instead of I will receive the blessings in the following days and months, I received the negative blessings and bad luck. I was surprised because I learned a truth about Baby Dizon. She asked me to stay away with her and her desciples too as soon as possible before anything happen to me. My relatives are right because they told me the same thing about Baby Dizon. Because of Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche's strict advice, I decided to stay away with Baby Dizon and her desciples. I don't want to suffer negative blessings and bad luck again. My relatives were still criticizing me and making the gossips to my other relatives and family friends about the incident happened. Also, they were thinking that I am a gay because first of all, I don't have a girlfriend yet and I am a graceful person. I am not a homosexual person because I am a professional person and grown from conservative family. Because of this, I decided to get lost from my relatives in Caloocan City and Baliwag, Bulacan to avoid their criticisms and gossips. I went to Novaliches, Quezon City with the help of my friend and former classmate, Mr. Michael Chua Dy of Navotas, Rizal. I worked in their company, Dyson Surface Coating Corporation, as a Lab Technician in Novaliches. I liked the job and my co-workers, manager, and supervisor were liked me and they became my friends later. His father, Mr. Juanito Tan Dy, General Manager and Owner of Dyson Surface Coating Corporation, talked to his friend and owner of the apartment, Mr. Ernesto N. Artango, to help me in finding the apartment. Thanks God that there is a vacant unit in their studio type apartment. I moved to the studio type apartment on November 19, 1993. It is a walking distance from my work. I liked the place because it is not so crowded and peaceful compare to Caloocan City, and near to the markets and stores. Novaliches is also traffic during rush hour but not so much in Caloocan City because there are more subdivisions and industries. My landlord and his family were liked me and treated me as their family member as well as my neighbors and co-tenants. I had a peace of mind since I moved to Novaliches. It was also considered a good blessing from God.
In 1994, my mother went back to Philippines to visit her friends and relatives and to find me as well. She asked the help from some of our relatives and family friends to find me. They went to Police Stations and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and asked a help to find me but they didn't loose their hope. They went to my friends' and former classmates' house to find me until they found me in Novalices at my work. They have a peace of mind and my mother as well because they found me that I am in good condition since I leave Caloocan City to stay away with Baby Dizon and with my relatives who criticizing me and making gossips. My mother asked me to forget my bad story in my life and to forgive the people who criticize and have sinned to me so that God will bless me more in my future career. She also asked me to go to church regularly so that I will be bless more. My mother and I went to Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche's residence in Tenejeros, Malabon, Rizal to gave thanks to Mrs. Fe Adelino Noche in saving me from the evil works of Baby Dizon and her disciples. Before we leave, she asked me to attend the Bible Study, watch 700 Club Asia, and convert myself into a Born-Again Christian. During that time, I am not yet ready to become a Born-Again Christian because I and my family were grown from Roman Catholic. Before my mother went back to United States, she talked to my friends as well as to my landlord in Novaliches and gave thanks for taking care of me. On May 1, 1994, Mr. Juanito Tan Dy assigned me to one of his association which is Philippine Electroplaters Asociation and worked as a Secretary and Chemist for two and a half years. This was also another blessing from God because I gained my working experience and I had an exposure to different electroplating industries Also, I learned how to talk to different people in electroplating industries and they became my friends later. I had received blessings but something is missing in my life. I don't know what it is? When my aunt, Mrs. Eliza Balajadia Dalacat, visited me at my studio type apartment, to convince or ask me to attend the Bible Study at their residence, I did not pay attention to that and ignored it because reading the Bible was difficult to me. One day, I watched 700 Club Asia thru television at ABS-CBN Channel 2. 700 Club Asia is a good television show because it tells about the life changes of each person from bad to good whether that person is a famous or not. Also, it tells about the gospels and verses of the Bible that applies to our daily life. I were enjoyed in watching 700 Club Asia with Conney Reyes as a host and I learned everything from that television show. Because of this, I decided to attend the weekly Bible Study every Saturday evening at my aunt's house in Kaybiga, Caloocan City on March 31, 1996.

Q: What is the Christian group of your aunt and her family?

A: My aunt, Mrs. Eliza Balajadia Dalacat, and her family are active at Charismatic Outreach Ministries Foundations, Incorporated or COMFI in short. Mrs. Ligaya Acuin Bartolome and Mr. Diosdado Bartolome (passed away) are the founders of COMFI. The main office of COMFI is located at Elizalde Street in BF Homes, Paraņaque, Rizal, Philippines. COMFI was started in 1985 and up to now, COMFI has a different locations in Philippines, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Canada, and United States. My aunt and her family are active at COMFI thru their co-workers and co-officers of Fil-Estate Realty, Inc. in Ortigas Center, Pasig, Rizal. There is also a weekly Bible Study in their office every Wednesday afternoon. I was very active at COMFI from 1996 to 1999 and I never missed the following schedules: Weekly Home Bible Study (Vista Verde Prayer Group) at my aunt's house in Kaybiga, Caloocan City. The preacher is different every week and they are assigned by COMFI senior pastor; Mid-Week Bible Study every Wednesday evening at Jade Vine's Restaurant in Ermita, Manila (near to Casino Filipino). The preacher is either Bro. Alex Bartolome or Bro. Ricky Bartolome whoever is available.; and Sunday Fellowship every morning at Glorietta Theater in Makati, Rizal. The preacher is either Bro. Alex Bartolome or Bro. Ricky Bartolome whoever is available. Sis. Ligaya Acuin Bartolome is always a Master of Ceremony in Mid-Week Bible Study and Sunday Fellowship.

Q: Were there any changes and improvements in your life since you became active at COMFI?

A: Oh yes, there were lot of changes and improvements in my life after I became active in COMFI. I will tell again my story and this time, it is a good story. After I resigned at Philippine Electroplaters Association, Inc. as a Secretary and Chemist in 1996, I gave a full attention to myself to prepare and review for my Board Examination in Chemical Engineering. I took the Board Examination in Chemical Engineering in 1996 and I passed the examination. It is my third take, first in 1992 and second in 1995. My friends, relatives, and of course my parents and brothers were very happy in passing my Board Examination in Chemical Engineering. My father went back to Philippines on November 15, 1996 to spent a one month and a half vacation and to attend my oath taking ceremony as a Chemical Engineering on December 1, 1996. I were very happy on that time because my prayers were answered. On March 13, 1997, I worked at United Container Corporation as a Quality Assurance Engineer in Kaybiga, Caloocan City for six months. My job performance there was excellent because I liked my job and my co-workers, supervisor and manager were liked me and then became my friends later. Also, I don't have any problems at my house in Novaliches, Quezon City because my neighbors and my landlord were my best friends later and treated me as a family member. Our place is peaceful but there is a traffic sometimes because there are many industries and subdivisions in that place. On September 15, 1997, I became a professor at De La Salle University at Chemical Engineering Department in Malate, Manila. It was the best blessing I received because it is hard to apply for teaching in that university because De La Salle University is also a prestigeous university in Philippines and it is also accredited by Commission of Higher Education (CHED). Thanks God that I became an active member of Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) after I passed my Board Examination in Chemical Engineering because I met Dr. Susan Abogado Roces, Treasurer and PRO of Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE), at the meetings, symposiums, and annual conventions. Dr. Susan Abogado Roces became my friend later thru our Secretary, Ms. Adela "Baby" Y. Anota. One day, I talked to Dr. Susan Abogado Roces because I learned that she is a professor of De La Salle University and a Faculty Chairman at Chemical Engineering Department as well. I was asked a question to her that "Is there an open position for teaching in your department?" She said "Yes". Since I don't have a Masters Degree yet, I can teach at Chemical Engineering Department but the position is a part-time professor. If I had a Masters Degree on that time, I could teach at Chemical Engineering Department as a full-time professor. Thanks God that she gave me a consideration for my application in teaching. When I did a demo-teaching at De La Salle University at Chemical Engineering Department, I was nervous and the panelist were Dr. Azucena A. Puertollano, Dr. Pag-asa Duran Gaspillo, Ms. Marylou M. Uy, Mr. Raymond R. Tan, and Dr. Susan Abogado Roces. After their evaluation, I was very happy because I passed the demo-teaching. I taught Mathematics to all engineering students because Chemical Engineering Department is a service department that serves Mathematics for all engineering students aside from Chemical Engineering subjects for chemical engineering students. I taught for three years before I left Philippines on November 11, 2000 for migration to United States. While I am teaching, the university gave me a free tuition in order to take my Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Major in Biotechnology in the same university thru Faculty Development. Although my tuition is free, I asked my parents in United States to send me a remittance every trimester in order to buy books and things to be use in studying. Unfortunately, I did not finish my Masters Degree because I received my US Visa on June 1, 2000 after I passed the interview and physical examination and I have to leave Philippines before my US Visa expires on December 1, 2000. I finished all my academic units but I did not finish my thesis work. Although I did not finish my Masters Degree, I thank God because He gave me a lot of blessings and improvements in my career as a Chemical Engineer. My students, co-faculty members, our Department Secretary, Department Chairman, College of Engineering Staffs, and the Dean of College of Engineering were liked me and became my friends later. Since I was a part-time professor at De La Salle University, I taught also at Lyceum of the Philippines at Engineering Department in Intramuros, Manila as a part-time professor. I taught Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, and Strength of Materials to all engineering students from 1998 to 1999. I taught for only one year because Engineering Department would abolish in the next school year. Lyceum of the Philippines got a low score and failed in CHED's evaluation when it comes to engineering courses. I tried to apply for teaching in other universities but they need a Masters Degree holder or even a Doctoral Degree holder in order to qualify for teaching at their universities. Because of this, I gave myself a full attention in teaching at De La Salle University and to my studies in Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Major in Biotechnology.

Q: Since you were active at COMFI, did you joined and attended the outreaches?

A: Yes, I joined and attended the outreaches of COMFI rarely because I was very busy in my work as a professor at De La Salle University and Lyceum of the Philippines. I was also busy in studying my Masters Degree. The places of COMFI's outreaches are not only in Manila but also in different provinces like Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bataan, Aurora, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, Zambales, Pangasinan, and so on. I was enjoyed in attending and joining the outreaches because not only I learned the gospels and words from the Bible, I travelled and saw the environment of different provinces. The people of the provinces especially our COMFI members there are also generous. They are always preparing foods and drinks everytime there is an outreach. The senior pastor of COMFI is sending at least three preachers to a province or place where there is an outreach. The outreach is usually scheduled everyday from morning to afternoon except Wednesday and Sunday.

Q: You mentioned earlier that you became successful after you joined at COMFI, what is your secret in your success?

A: Well, I don't really have any secrets in my success. When I joined at COMFI, I started to apply of what I learned from gospels and words from the Bible in our everyday life. To be a successful person, we have to avoid evil things and activities on earth such as gambling, drinking alcoholic beverages, doing illicit sex, reading pornogrphic materials, saying explicit words, saying negative words, worshiping the images and idols, greediness, arrogant, envy, pride, harassments, murdering, stealing, reading horoscopes, consulting to fortune tellers, faith healers, and witches, and so on. We should follow the ten commandments of God always in order to not only to be a successful person but to receive good blessings and to enter the Kingdom of God. All Christians should give their tithes and offerings to their church in order to receive more blessings. According to Malachi 3:10 NIV says that "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." When I do the tithing everytime I receive my salary or income, I don't experienced the shortage of my budget and I don't know why? That's a miracle because sometimes I received more blessings that you don't expect even Mathematics cannot answer this method of tithing. Tithes means one-tenth (1/10) of your income or salary and therefore I received more than that I gave.

Q: We heard that you quit at COMFI in 1999, why?

A: I quit at COMFI in 1999 because I had a lot of problems with my co-members at COMFI. Some of my co-members at COMFI didn't like me. One of our preacher in our place, Vista Verde Prayer Group, didn't like me at the start or first time that we met. Sis. Nene Awang was irritated and lost her moods everytime I saw me in the prayer group. She didn't talk to me or greet me at least once. She was always saying bad words to me everytime we talk. She was saying negative comments about me to our other co-members like Sis. Crisanta Bongolto, Sis. Angelita Zaraspe, and even to my aunt, uncle, and my cousins. Bro. Emil Gregorio told me that Sis. Nene Awang seriously didn't like me and she criticized me to our co-members at our headquarters too during their meetings that's because they think that I am a gay. Because of this, I decided to leave the prayer group or quit at COMFI before anyting happened bad to the group. I observed that some of our co-members at COMFI are very arrogant, hypocrite, and plastic especially during the sharing portions. I lost the respect and love to the prayer group and even to COMFI. I confessed to the Lord that please forgive me of what I had done.

Q: After you quit at COMFI, did you find another christian church and where?

A: Yes, I found another christian church which is Greenhills Christian Fellowship or GCF in short. GCF is a church at the very heart of Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines (near to Robinson's Galleria and EDSA Shrine) - one of the fastest-growing commercial centers in the Philippines today. GCF has a growing attendance of over 3,000 and its Sunday School has over 700 attendees. GCF was born out of a New Testament heritage, assisting in the spreading of the gospel through evangelism, discipleship, and in the multiplication of churches. GCF was a vision sought after by Rev. David and Patty Jo Yount of the Conservative Baptist Mission, aimed at reaching the emerging, self-reliant Filipinos who have the resources, the influence, and the leadership to do a significant work in spreading the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the Philippines and even to other nations. It began on February 14, 1978 when 67 people met at the Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, Rizal for a Valentine's Fellowship Dinner. GCF grew and transferred to Greenhills Sound Production in San Juan, Rizal, and settled at Medecor Building along Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong, Rizal and then to our own present facility on the corner of Garnet and Ruby Roads in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. In August 1993, after twenty-two years of post-graduate studies and professional ministries in the United States and Canada, Dr. Luis L. Pantoja Jr. responded to the call to be the Senior Pastor of Greenhills Christian Fellowship. Today, GCF has grown into satellite churches as follows: GCF South Metro, GCF East, GCF San Fernando, GCF Batangas City, GCF North, GCF Cebu, GCF Naga, GCF Malolos, and GCF Marikina Valley.

Q: Who invited you at Greenhills Christian Fellowship?

A: Ms. Eliza Sarabia Ong invited me to join and attend the Bible Study and Sunday Fellowship at Greenhills Christian Fellowship or GCF in short. Ms. Eliza Sarabia Ong is an active member of GCF since her childhood up to present. I met Ms. Eliza Sarabia Ong at one of the Business Opportunity Meeting of Goldquest, International, Inc. thru my co-faculty member at Chemical Engineering Department of De La Salle University, Mrs. Virginia I. Bernales. Mrs. Virginia I. Bernales invited me to be a distributor of Goldquest, International, Inc. and they became my uplines later. Ms. Eliza Sarabia Ong became my best friend later. She finished her Business Management Course at De La Salle University.

Q: Were you an active member of Greenhills Christian Fellowship?

A: Yes, I was an active member of GCF for only ten months before I left Philippines on November 11, 2000. I regularly attended the Growth Group Meetings every Wednesday evening at one of our assistant pastor's house in Pag-asa, Quezon City (near to SM North EDSA), every Tuesday evening at one of our member's house in Sta. Cruz, Manila (near to Chinatown), and every Friday evening at one of our member's house in Talipapa, Novaliches, Quezon City (near to Talipapa Market). Also, I regularly attended the Sunday Fellowship every morning in our church at Ortigas Center, Pasig City (near to Robinson's Galleria and EDSA Shrine). I were not able to attend the outreaches and participate in the activities of GCF because I don't have enough time and I was very busy in studying my Masters Degree doing my thesis work and my work as a professor at De La Salle University at Chemical Engineering Department.

Q: Were there any changes and improvements in your life since you became active at GCF?

A: Yes, there were also lot of changes and improvements in my life after I became an active at GCF. One day, I received a letter from US Embassy in Manila that I need to take a physical examination and passed the interview in order to receive my US Visa. My parents were filled a petition after they received their Green Card. I went to Saint Luke Medical Center in Ermita, Manila (near to US Embassy) to take a physical examination. After a week, I went to US Embassy in Manila for the interview by the US Consul. I was also nervous but I answered his questions very well. Thanks God that I passed the physical examination and interview at US Embassy in Manila and I received my US Visa on June 1, 2000. My dreams came true after eight years of waiting. My job performance as a professor at De La Salle University at Chemical Engineering Department was still good after I evaluated by my students, peers, and the Department Chairman. My grades at my Masters Degree was also excellent but I did not able to finish my Masters Degree because my US Visa was released on June 1, 2000 and I had to leave Philippines before December 1, 2000 which is the expiration of my US Visa. Although I did not finished my Masters Degree, I thank God because he gave me already a lot of blessings and improvements in my life.

Q: We heard that you became a member of Greenhills Christian Fellowship, isn't it?

A: Yes, I became a member of GCF on January 14, 2000. Before I became a member of GCF, I followed the following steps or procedures: I attended the Growth Group Meetings regularly, I attended the Membership Class, I filled-up the Membership Form (available at GCF Office), I was interviewed by Pastor Luis L. Pantoja, and finally I was baptized by Pastor Luis L. Pantoja by water immersion method on November 5, 2000 at GCF Church in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. I made a request to GCF to send me a Certificate of Membership thru mail at my address in United States because I would leave Philippines on November 11, 2000. Thanks God that I received the Certificate of Baptism, Certificate of Membership, pictures, and brochures thru US Priority Mail.

Q: How do you compare COMFI with GCF?

A: Well, they are both christian church. COMFI has a lot of sharing portions with praising and worshiping songs and teaching the gospels. GCF has more praising and worshiping songs and teaching the gospels. GCF has a communion like in Roman Catholic but you have to take a piece of small bread and a small cup of sweet wine during the Sunday Fellowship. GCF is concentrating in Bible Study rather than to do a lot of sharing portions. I think GCF is right because sometimes some Christians are arrogant when it comes to sharing portions. Both COMFI and GCF has a lot of activities and outreaches aside from weekly Bible study and Sunday Fellowship. Pastor Luis L. Pantoja told me that we as a Christian should not do a comparison with other Christian Churches. According to him, if you are comparing the Christian churches, you are already doing a competition just like in the business. The most important as a Christian is to have a better relationship with God. I told to Pastor Luis L. Pantoja about my bad experiences with COMFI. According to him, we cannot please all the people in the world even in the Christian groups. Each person has a different character and personality. If someone is criticizing, irritating, or discriminating to you, you should pray that person and forgive of what they are doing to you. Also, try to do your best in order to become your friend later. My problem is I cannot forgive the person who criticized me especially Sis. Nene Awang of COMFI. I can forgive her but not so quickly. Time is a factor in order to forgive her completely. I have to stay with GCF in order to forget my bad experiences with COMFI. Again, I confessed to the Lord that please forgive me of what I had done.

Q: We heard that you left Greenhills Christian Fellowship, isn't it?

A: Yes, I left GCF because I would leave Philippines by November 11, 2000. We had a farewell party at our Growth Group Bible Study in Sta. Cruz, Manila. I had a lot of friends at GCF like Ms. Eliza Sarabia Ong, Ms. Joy Lao and her twin sister, Mr. Alex Trajano, Mr. Sherwin Dy, Mr. Emmanuel Yangkong, etc. They prepared foods and drinks for the party. After the party, we had prayers and they prayed very well so that the Lord will not forsake me and guide me in my future plans in United States. My friends at GCF gave me their address, telephone number, cellphone number, and e-mail address so that we can get in touch each other while I am in United States.

Q: Are you still a born-again Christian in United States?

A: Yes, after three years since I came here in United States on November 11, 2000. While I was looking for another Christian Church here in San Francisco Bay Area in California, I am attending the masses temporarily in Roman Catholic Churches with my parents and my brothers but I am no longer praying the rosary and novenas.

Q: Did you find another Christian Chruch in United States and where?

A:Yes, I found another Christian Chruch in United States which is Church of the Highlands. Our church is located at 1900 Monterey Drive, San Bruno, California 94066-2571. Our church is easily find by anyone because it is located at the top of the hill with a big cross and it is near along Highway 35 and Sneath Lane in San Bruno, California. Previously, our church was a supermarket way back in 1970 and converted into a church later after it is closed and filled a bankruptcy. Like Greenhills Christian Fellowship (GCF) in Pasig City, Rizal, Philippines, Church of the Highlands has Bible Studies and Christian School from Toddler Program to High School. Our senior pastor, Donald B. Sheley, is the founder of the church and has been preaching the Word of God for over 50 years.

Q: Who invited you at Church of the Highlands?

A:
