The Eccentric Collector

Hey All, just set up a quick and dirty webpage to feature some pics of the works-in-progress of a few items that my Father-in-law and I are currently working on. Check out the pics below and if you have any questions feel free to ask, send me an e-mail at timothy.sullivan@bell.ca Everything will eventually be for sale, we just want to get a few done and guage the interest before we start offering them for open sale.

Unlike a lot of what you see out there I'm not interested in making "fantasy crates". These are all 1:6th examples of REAL 1:1 items I either own in my personal collection or have seen. They are all made exactly as the originals, taken from accurate measurements and are meant to fulfil the same role in 1:6th as they do in 1:1.

Coming soon I hope to have pictures of my airborne leg bag that I'm working on as well as my X-type parachute. I'll also have a few other bits and bobs for you dio builders including chairs, tables and other niceties.
Thanks for looking! I apologize for the yellow-orangish tint to the photos, I didn't have time to set up a full photo session for these shots. I'm hoping to get a few better ones over the weekend and will post them.

The first pic here is of the two boxes I have done in prototype form. They are of the Commonwealth Compo Ration crate and the No.36m Grenade crate.

Here is the compo crate all by it's lonesome. It's made from basswood and glued together. I still have a bit of detailing to do (i.e. nail heads) and they will come with content stencil on the end (i.e. which of the seven menus it contains and when it was packed) but it gives you a basic idea of what they'll look like. I SHOULD also be able to let the customer have their pick of menu type (A thru G) and packing date.

And here's the box with the lid removed. The boxes in real life were simple things and this is no different. Great to add your canned goods to feed your section with!

Here's the No.36 grenade crate. Like the compo crate there are a couple details that still need to be added. There should be two rope handles on the end and the crate should be painted OD, but this will give you an idea of the basic form it will take.

And here's the inside. It was designed to carry 12 Mills Bombs with the centre section reserved for the box of fuses (which I'm working on also providing).

Here's a pic of the two crates I described with a 1:1 pic of my next prototype, the .303 wooden ammo box. It will be reproduced in the same fashion as the others, real wood construction, removable lid, stencilled sides and top. As soon as I get some made I'll post up some more pictures for you to enjoy.

Thanks again for looking. If you have any questions, want to place an order or just express interest in anything you've seen, or anything else you'd like to see made feel free to get a hold of me at timothy.sullivan@bell.ca
Thanks again for looking, see you soon!
