Game Play Notes:

Because the game is reliant on certain time blocks
(to be able to find certain characters or to search
rooms when certain characters are not there), the
player must wait for those time blocks or the clock
may have to be adjusted to a specific time frame.
Some conversations follow different paths, and can be
lengthened (garnering more information) by using the
"gentle" approach to questioning.
During your investigation, you will encounter many
ghostly "happenings", such as strange phone calls,
spooky noises, fleeing spirits and slamming doors.
These "happenings" occur at different instances
depending on the route you take.

Haunted Mansion gameplay and interface and to get
your sleuthing started, here is the first of our
Solution Guide
Nancy's Bedroom - The Chinese Themed Room
The bedroom that you (as Nancy) have been assigned has a
Chinese motif throughout. We will refer to this room as
the "Chinese Room" for the rest of this game. Your
inventory contains one item, a key.
Thoroughly examine the room. Notice the various forms of
dragons decorating the room.
Read the poem on the wall.
Note the interactivity of one of the bedposts - although
you cannot do anything with it at the moment.
Note the clock radio: this is quite valuable for changing
the time of day, without having to wait for certain time
blocks. Click on ‘Cancel’ to back away from the clock.
Examine the dragon sculpture carefully. Take note of the
Hanzi for ‘Daughters’ on the plaque.
Look at the suitcases - locked! Take the key out of
inventory and place it in the lock, it opens. In the
suitcase, the only thing available to look at is Nancy's
journal. This is updated as you go through the game and can
be used to refresh your memory when piecing the clues together.
Click on the inside lid of the suitcase to close it. Leave
the room by clicking on the door.
Go out into the hallway. At the end of the long hallway you
will see a picture of a woman in white. Click on her picture
until the camera angle changes. Turn left and go down the
hallway. Click on the door on the left. Click on the door
again and your character will knock on the door. This is Abby's
Room. It is the only door on the second floor that you can
interact with other than the Chinese Room.

Knock on the door. Abby answers the door. Speak to her.
Choose conversation topics wisely, as some topics prolong
conversations and others end conversations quickly. She
suggests that danger surrounds Nancy. She also suggests
(out of the blue) that Nancy doesn’t believe in ghosts,
stating that the spirits in the house may give Nancy a hard
time. She offers the name Valdez as having a strong
connection with the mansion. She ends with having to prepare
for this evening, as "more will be revealed."
Turn around and go back down the hallway towards the main
staircase. Go down the left stairs. Note the cord tied to
the chandelier. If you touch it once you will loosen the
cord. Touch it a second time and you loosen the cord further.
Touch is a third time and the chandelier will fall causing
Rose to tell you to leave because of your negligence. If you
decide to try it anyway, either save your game first or use
the handy second chance feature after you receive a game over.
Continue down the stairs. Notice that the last step "creaks.'
This is a significant clue later on in the game.

Hints:

You can't go banging and crashing with impunity, but
a well-placed thump on a competitor's door will generally
not send you into a spin and is encouraged as a way of
forcefully pushing your way through turns.
If you have enough free disk space, go with a full install
to eliminate CD access delays when racing.
For rookie and veteran drivers alike, the most important
prerace screen is the one marked "AI Strength."
Here you can fully tailor the realism and tune the level
of assistance you require. Sliding controls govern several
key areas, including drafting effect, horsepower, car
balance, opponent strength, and speed-sensitive steering.
In essence, you can make the game as easy or difficult,
authentic or "action oriented" as you want. You cannot
effectively judge the capabilities of NASCAR 2000 without
fully exploring these options.
EA Sports and Stormfront have really upgraded the game
manual for the latest NASCAR. Use it wisely and pay
particular attention to the "In the Garage" section it
really does help you get faster.
NASCAR Racing 3

Things have changed since NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition. Now,
drafting past and outbraking a competitor into a turn is
no longer a guarantee that he won't stay with you or attempt
to regain his position in the midst of that turn. Be certain
beforehand that your setup can handle all aspects of a given
track's corners, and adjust your approach to ensure that a
fast entry doesn't result in a slow exit.
As always, a fast frame rate is absolutely essential to
properly monitor your car's position and attitude.
If the frame rate isn't totally smooth, especially in
the midst of traffic, go to the graphics options area
and prepare to sacrifice pretty pictures for fast frame
transitions.
NASCAR 3 is one of the very few racing titles in which a
force-feedback wheel is actually a driving aid, not just
a frivolous perk. If you have the bucks, take the plunge-just
check the reviews of the wheel first and make sure you're
getting a good one.
If you're tinkering with your car, make sure your new setup
can survive the grind of the race distance you choose.
There were many times when I'd settled on a given setup
that flew for the first few dozen laps, only to die later
as rubber burned off the right front tire. Don't make the
same mistake.
If you can handle the pitfalls of short, low-banked circuits,
chances are you can handle higher-banked and longer tracks
where the driving isn't quite so frightening. I personally
feel that Memphis, a three-quarter-mile facility with 11-degree
banking, is a great baptism by fire.
You would do well to adopt the "Five P" approach: Preparation,
patience, perseverance, pacing, and last but surely not least,
practice.

Are you tired of having to change the opposition strength in the race
menu every time you race at a different track?
Here's what to do:
First, set the opps within the game to 100%
say were racing at Atlanta. Go to the Atlanta Track
directory(/nascar3/tracks/atlanta)Create copies of ATLANTA.TXT
(or whatever the track name is) and RECORDS.TXT in the same directory.
open the Atlanta.TXT Scroll down the arcane Capital letter words like
TNAME, SPEEDW, LENGT. There are only a couple linesw you can change
without inviting Armaggedon. LAPS:how many laps are in a full length
race
QUAL:how many qualifying laps there are. DONT CHANGE THE FIRST NUMBER.
THERE SHOULD BE TWO. the first number is only a place-holder.
BLAP:The average qualifying time for the computer cars, x 1000(so if
the times are 23.456 secoonds, they would show up as 23456)Find your
average qual time and enter this in to be able to qualify near the
middle of the pack.
RELS:Same as opposition strength(if you had both RELS and OPPS at 97%,
the cars would travel at 97% of 97%, or 94% at that track)

Tip: There are no "tricks" to becoming a good NASCAR driver.
As in the real world, it takes perseverance and hour upon hour
of seat time. And a good, long examination of the wonderful
manual/strategy guide is something you must do.
Tip: If you can perfect your line on a given track so that
it rarely, if ever, varies, you've gone a long way toward
mastering the smoothness and consistency this game requires.
Furthermore, once you've begun your garage work, you need to
know that extra half second was the result of better tinkering,
not better driving.
Tip: When making modifications to your car, always make just
one or two at a time--that way you'll know what helped and
what didn't. Also, save each newly altered car under a new
filename or you'll be screwed faster than Bill Clinton.
Tip: When it comes to controlling high-end racing sims,
joysticks blow. Go out and get yourself a good wheel-and-pedal
unit. Right now.
Tip: Of all the data the game supplies, perhaps the most
critical is the tire temperatures. What you want your setup
to do is keep them even across the width of each tire after
a bunch of hot laps. Doing so means more rubber is contacting
the ground, and your tires, in all likelihood, will last longer
and be more effective. Of course, a lot of factors go into even
tire temps, so don't be disappointed if it takes you some time,
perhaps several hours or more, to get it right.
Tip: On the track, a fast frame rate is absolutely fundamental
for detecting minor fluctuations early enough to correct them.
Turn off nonessential graphics options or use the game as a good
excuse to upgrade your computer or video card.
Tip: Starting a race with no pace lap means you'll get a good
chance at picking up lots of early positions.

simply pull your foot off the accelerator. Without the
pedal depressed, your car won't fall into a spin as easily.

the Papyrus variety. Prepare even earlier for corners, and
do what you can in the garage to enhance your stopping
ability.

Don't ever, ever place a wheel on the grass. The quite
possibly airborne consequences can be inordinately horrific.
Nascar Heat

In Heat's arcade-oriented Normal mode, there is no
substitute for raw speed. On the ovals, don't even
worry about slowing down for corners if there's a car
ahead of you, because he'll make a convenient brake.
In fact, finding yourself absolutely surrounded by cars
in a turn is actually a good thing, as they'll essentially
carry you through the turn. And finally, get down low on
the apron for passing, as your car won't bounce about over
the track angle transition point nearly as much as it will
in Expert mode.
If you've overshot a turn in Expert mode, don't feel you
must keep the brake pedal crushed until you've slowed to a
stop. Instead, apply the brakes as you would in a real car,
then let up on them and slowly accelerate through the final
stages of the corner. Not many games allow you to drive your
way out of trouble, but this one does and it's just a great
feeling.
Take care to avoid instances of quarter-panel contact.
If you're tapped there in this game, there's a strong
likelihood you'll spin or temporarily lose control.
Use the whole track. Unlike much of its competition,
NASCAR Heat opens up several passing lanes on each of
its oval circuits, allowing you to pass up high and in
other spots with which you may not be accustomed.
Remember, your AI opponents will slow considerably when
they have to deal with back markers. You, on the other
hand, can smoothly sail on by.
Vortex Damage (Edit File):

Just go to your files folders and open options.txt and
find the line that says vortex damage then change from
no to yes and it should work.
NOTE: May take longer to load tracks with vortex on.

The bias-ply tires on these historical cars burn at a much
faster rate than modern radials do, and you must adapt to
the times or risk losing every race you enter. For starters,
practice your pit-stop routine until you're able to enter and
leave with absolute precision. Second, try adjusting the tire
pressures during prerace practice sessions to determine which
pressure gives the longest life. And finally, modify your
driving style to eliminate tire squeal in the turns. Remember,
nothing slows you down like extra pit stops.
You won't be able to brake nearly as deep or hold your line
through a turn as you would with a modern-day NASCAR car, no
matter how hard you try. So take it easy out there.
Legends' Easy setup is preferable to the Ace setup on several
of the game's shorter courses. On the Easy setting, you won't
achieve the same sort of speeds as you would on the Ace setting,
but you can keep the car calmer and less jittery and hold your
line through turns. And when you're in the thick of traffic in
these antique cars, stability is absolutely essential.
Using the F10 overhead view from a standing start is a pretty
good idea, but you won't want to do it once you're at speed
and in the throes of all those complex Papyrus physics.
The overhead view gives you a better idea of just how close
your rivals are as you try to pick up a few positions before
that first turn.

GameTips

If you role-play, you'll find the camera angles to be
restrictive at times (they tend to center on the ball
carrier). You'll get the widest view with the sideline
camera.
Role-playing works best if you play as a point guard,
because you'll be in control of the ball most of the
time and can direct the offense with your passes.
To knock the ball free from an opponent, make sure you're
on the side where he's dribbling; if you try to knock the
ball loose from the backside, you'll get called for a
reach-in foul more often than not.
The shoot button acts a little strange at times--sometimes
you have to release the button to shoot, and other times
you have to hold it. Head to the practice court and work
on a variety of shots to get the proper "touch."
If you're playing a good shooter, the fall-away jumper can
be money in the bank. Drive in close to the hoop, then move
away from the hoop as you shoot--you'll swish nearly every
time.
If the opposing team is in a situation where they need to
foul, take control of the ball and weave your way to the
three-point line--odds are, they'll foul you during the
shot and you'll get a chance to sink three free throws.

This command line option gets rid of the long movies
that play when ID2000 starts. To do this you will need
to click the Start button in Windows and then click the
run option. Then use the browse button and find your
nba2000.exe file. Then click on the nba2000.exe file
and click the open button. Then all you need to do is
type -novideo after the nba2000.exe in the run command
box. You can also do this through the ID2000 shortcut
on your desktop. To do this simply right-click on the
desktop icon and select properties. Then under the
shortcut tab you will see the full path to the game
and after nba2000.exe just add -novideo. It will
probably look something like c:\program files\microsoft
games\inside drive 2000\nba2000.exe -novideo
Hidden Courts:
--------------
To get the 3 hidden courts do the following. You have to
use the run command in windows and this is a command line
cheat just like the mini players and the alley oops. After
the NBA2000.exe put (-floor gym) without the parenthesis.
That will allow you to play on the gym court. You can also
access the High Voltage parking lot court and the outside
practice court with the -floor command. Simply put
(-floor hvs) or (-floor outside) to get them. So basically
there are 3 courts that you can access by using the -floor
command line option. There is also a construct court and a
software court but they're missing files so they won't work.
Hidden Teams:
-------------
To get to the hidden super teams in the game do the following.
From the main screen move you mouse to the bottom left hand
part of the screen until you mouse highlights. Click there
and you will be brought to the credits screen. Look at the
credits and when you go back in the team select screen you
will see 4 new teams at the end of the slider bar - 2 High
Voltage teams and 2 Microsoft teams. If you play HVS at home
you will play on a cool court in their parking lot!
Easy Alley Oops:
----------------
This relaxes the requirements for alley-oops to occur. It
does not make your receiver cut for the alley-oop, it simply
removes some of the checks to see if he's got a perfect lane
to the hoop open. The way to make this happen is to pass to
a guy who is breaking towards the hoop. To get this cheat to
work place the following command on the run command line right
after the inside drive executable without the quotes "-EasyAlleyOops"
Huge/Mini-Players:

For mini players or huge players use the following command
line arguments just like the one above without the quotes
"-HugePlayers" or "-MiniPlayers"
NBA Jam Extreme
Keep record screen codes:

The following codes are entered on the keep record screen.
They are entered one pair of letters at a time. Enter the
first pair, backspace twice, and enter the next pair and
repeat until the code is complete. A sound and a flash will
confirm correct code entry. At this point, you can enter a
normal record entry.

Tip-off codes:
Enter the following codes before the tip-off during the time
the referee walks out and throws the ball in the air. Text
will appear to confirm correct entry of some of the codes.
Note: entry of a code effects all players in the game. On
codes with multiple button presses, entry of a button too
many times will disable the code from entry by other players.
No CPU assistance
Press [Extreme], [Turbo], [Pass] two times. The phrase
"computer assistance off" will appear to confirm correct
code entry.
Play with beach ball

Use Legends in rosters:

Go to Trade Players, and trade a Legend to a team without
a replacement. You cannot trade a non-Legend player to a
Legend, or put a non-Legend player in the Legend pool.
You can only select a Legend and trade him to the team
without a replacement to the Legend pool. You do not need
to unlock him by defeating him 1-on-1 in Superstar mode.
All-Decade Team players:
------------------------
There is a set of five All-Decade Teams (1950's through
1990's), and all of the players on those teams can be
unlocked to become available to put on any desired roster.
In order to achieve that for each player, the game will
give you hints as to how this may be done. Michael Jordan,
for instance (as well as for Wilt Chamberlain and one other
player from the 1950's team), can be unlocked by beating
Michael Jordan with any player in the superstar level in
the game's one-on-one mode. If there is a way to unlock
players by achieving certain performances in a single game,
the easiest way to do that is to use a great team (like the
All-Decade Teams) against a poor one (like the Chicago Bulls).
For seasonal achievements, just work your way through it. All
the achievements can be achieved, but if you want to win by
a lot over a team, do not try to make 15 'threes' or pick up
30 assists in a game -- just play up-tempo basketball. If you
try to make the achievements, watch yourself because you also
have to win the game to unlock the legends.
Defeating Isaiah Thomas:
------------------------
Get fifteen steals in a game in superstar mode to unlock him
on the roster.
Use a good point guard (preferably) with quick hands (Iverson,
Kidd, Payton, Stoudamire, Brandon, and Knight are probably the
best). Follow the ball. There are times when you can strip
someone off the dribble, but that may be difficult (Kidd and
Isiah Thomas do that the best). The easiest way is to strip a
player trying to post-up down low, and your guard (the player
you are controlling) comes on the double-team; but wait until
the post player starts his dribble. You will steal the ball a
lot by doing this.
Hint: Defeating Michael Jordan:
-------------------------------
Defeat Michael Jordan one on one in superstar mode to unlock
him on the roster.
Although the following trick can be done with any point total
to win, 11 is probably the best. Choose Jeff Hornacek to play
against Michael Jordan. After getting the ball, just shoot
three-pointers. Michael will not guard you until your start
to make a lot of shots or get a big lead. When he does start
to guard, back up a few feet from the three point line and
shoot the ball. He will not guard and you can still make the
basket. Note: Make sure to release ball at the top of your
jump. Jeff Hornacek will not always make it, so only shoot
the three-pointer on every other shot. He should make about
90% if he shoots every other shot. Try to drive on every
possession when you do not shoot a three.
Another strategy is to use Willis Reed. Back Jordan into the
lane, and then shoot within five inches of the basket. Jordan
cannot block Reed, and Reed can also use a deadly jumper if he
is less than 25 feet from the hoop.
Another strategy is to use Oscar Robertson, since he is a good
all-around player, could can shoot and post-up.
Another strategy is to create a player that is very tall, with
99 in all attributes. Just post up and shoot three pointers.
Another strategy is to use John Stockton. After getting the ball,
move back a little and shoot 3-pointers. Shoot the ball at the
top of your jump. When playing defense, just defend the best
that you can.
Use Reggie Miller and drain threes. If your friend creates a
7'10 monster and you cannot get a shot off, use Miller again.
As soon as you get the ball, run backwards a step and fling a
deep fadeaway - or drive in and back him down as far as you
can. Instead of letting the ball go at the peak of your jump,
let go as soon as you can and the ball will go through his chest.
Hint: Easy scoring:
-------------------
Start a one-on-one game with a friend. Pump fake to get him/her
to jump. Then, just go right around your opponent with a
spectacular dunk or nasty nice lay-up.
Hint: 3-point baskets:
----------------------
To get fifteen 3-point baskets in a game, your best players to
do this are very streaky, but decent shooters (Bird, Rick Barry,
Iverson, Glen Rice, Tim Hardaway, etc.). Many times with these
players, you can either kick it out to them from the low post
and shoot, or (which is better most times), if you are going on
the fast break, pull-up from 3 point range. You still have to
shoot at the top of your jump, but with streaky shooters, you
have a great chance of hitting several in a row, even if you do
not shoot from the top of your jump.
To unlock Larry Bird you need to get at least 20 points in the
3-Point Shoot Out in Superstar. Try using Glenn Rice from the
Lakers, or John Stockton from the Jazz. Use as many chances as
you can get -- set it up for 8.
Hint: Triple-Double:
--------------------
Try getting the Triple-Double with points, assists, and steals.
Create a player that is 7'10" and around 270-280 pounds. Make him
a point guard with 99 in all attributes. He should be able to
rebound, block shots, steal, score, and dish out assists very
well. You should be able to get more than one legend by getting
the fifteen steals and thirty assists.
NBA Live '95
Create a custom team with these players in any positions:
Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, Latrell Sprewell,
Anfernee Hardaway, Shaquille O'neal, Shawn Kemp, Jamal Mashburn,
Mitch Richmond, Tim Hardaway, Dikembe Mutombo and Reggie Miller.
Put this team as the CUSTOM JAMMERS. Play with them against the New
York Knicks on two player mode the player that is using the keyboard
has to be leading 58-12 at half time. When it comes up for the
outstanding players from each team make sure that it is Anfernee
Hardaway. When it comes up type in capital letters "KATIHOODASLACKS".
It is easier if the game is paused while you do this. A voice
will come up that says congratulations you have accessed the secret
players menu. In this secret players menu you can create your
own players and use many different characters such as Sub Zero,
Sonya Blade, Kitana, Alan Border and many other characters.
Some of the mortal kombat characters can do moves, but I don't
know them. Choose ARCADE play, or this cheat wont work.

basketball player and give him a name of one of the game

On the kickoff, start the kick with the triangle button.
Place the kick about half way between the sideline and
the middle of the field. After you have started the kick
there is no reason to hit the triangle button again.
Just let it reach the bottom of the power meter.
I would suggest putting your fastest people on the side
you are kicking to. You need them there to get the ball.
It works best if you jump for the ball when you get near
it which is done by hitting the triangle button.
This works for me every time. You won't ever have to
play defense again unless you get bored scoring hundreds
of points.
At the conrol select screen type "elah" before
selecting your controller, then select controller
then click play game. If entered correctly you will
here the Seminole War chant. This code makes the home
team tiny and the away team huge.

Country Woods shortcut:

There is a shortcut in the Country Woods track that can
save 18 seconds on your time. It is located where the
fence ends near a lot of trees.
Atlantica shortcut:

When you are at the split roads, stay to the right. A wooden
passage will be visiable at the second split. Use the hand
brake and turn into it. Then drive straight. You then have to
go left and then straight. After that, turn right.
More distance between the police:
---------------------------------
After the police are on your tail, flip a U-turn by pressing
[Space] (E-Brake) so you are heading right for them. Once you
pass them, they will also turn around. Flip another U-turn and
quickly accelerate. Flipping the U-turn takes the police more
time, and will give you a couple more seconds to get ahead of
them.
Need for Speed V-Rally
As soon as the screen goes white for the
Infogrames logo press Up, Down, Triangle,
Circle, Up, Down, Triangle, then Circle. Once
lock of appears on the screen press the
following for extra cheats. The lock off cheat
will let you select the Arcade Medium and Hard
courses without having to complete the previous
courses.
Cheat:How to use it:
Unlimited TimePress and hold Left + L1 to get
infinite time on Arcade mode The race continues
even if the checkpoints are not crossed before
time expires, so you should have no trouble
going round backwards and crashing into the
other drivers for a laugh.
Narrow TracksPress and hold Left + L2. The
Arcade tracks are now narrower as confirmed by
the 'Narrow Tracks Loading' message before a
race. These tracks are usually earned by
completing the Arcade Hard courses when the
difficulty level is set on Ace. You will need
sharp eyes indeed to spot the slight difference
between them and the normal tracks, but it is
there.
JeepPress and hold Left + R1. A small Jeep will
replace the Peugeot 106 Maxi (see below for
details of the jeep's performance). This cheat
also activates the secret Rollercoaster track.
Restart RacePress and hold Left + R2 to allow an
Arcade mode race to be restarted. This
effectively gives you infinite continues which
should help when the computer-controlled bandits
run you off the road five yards from the finish
line.
Debug ModePress Left then Right. Game debug
information will be displayed. Press Start to
access a 'Memory' option that displays more
information. Quite how useful this can be is a
mystery. Unless, of course, you happen to have
programmed the game.
All CheatsIf you want the first four cheats
active at the same time, simultaneously press
and hold Left + L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 when the 'Lock
Off' message appears.
Toyota CelicaYes, it is in there, but there's no
easy way to get it. You have to complete Arcade
and Championship on Pro level, coming first in
each. Now use same car on first Arcade track
(Corsica) in Time Trial and set a lap record
under 1 minute. The barrier on the left after
the start should disappear drive down the lane
to obtain the Celica.
Rollercoaster TrackTo get this stomach-churning
course, simply activate the cheat for the Jeep,
then select the 'Sweden 1' Championship track in
Time Trial mode. The screen should say it's
loading the '????' stages to indicate you've
accessed the secret circuit.
The track itself is a real humdinger. You can
put your foot down at the start as the two bends
you come to are very slight, but as soon as
you're on the viaduct, hit the brakes and slow
right down. The reason for doing this is that
the small bumps following it are extremely
deadly - even a fraction of excessive speed can
send you spinning, or worse make you crash into
the invisible barrier that seems to cover the
top half of the screen.
When you're past this bit you can really put
your foot down. Come out of the next hard left
corner at high speed and head down the dip.
Don't go too fast, though, as there's a sharp
right turn as you get to the tunnel. Cruise
round the selection of corners and head up the
steep hill with the hammer down - avoid hitting
the sides or you'll stall the engine and be
dragged to the bottom again. Be wary of losing
control on your way down this mother of all
drops, as you'll be reaching speeds of 270 kph
or more - we're talking terminal wipe-out if you
screw up.
Following this there's an even bigger hill for
you drive up, and going down the other side is
no picnic as there are many lethal corners to
negotiate. When you're past this nightmare
there's only a small dip and right bend to
negotiate as you head for the finish line,
looking a bit green.

Head to the Setup screen and choose Blasters to customize
the weapons that you consider to be the strongest--in
other words, the ones that are best for you. This saves
you the hassle of grabbing a weapon that you don't feel
is useful when you're manually switching weapons.
Start a multiplayer game while not connected to the
Internet (or as a Private game) to memorize each map
without the distraction of having to battle other
players.
You can modify the NERF.INI file in the Systems Folder
to include bot players in multiplayer mode. Simply edit
the line that says "bMultiPlayerBots=False" to read
"bMultiPlayerBots=True." To change the number of
computer-controlled opponents, head down a couple of
lines in the file and change the number after "InitialBots"
to whatever you like.
Make sure you become well acquainted with the alternate
fire modes of each weapon--their effective use is what sets
champions apart from the Nerf masses.

Truly worthwhile shortcuts are few and far between.
If winning is your priority, spend your time perfecting
racing lines on the track and stay clear of reckless
opponents.
Tip 2:

It takes some time to get in the distinctive Need for Speed
groove. This is especially important for multiplayer games.
You may leave the game overnight after a long and successful
stint only to come back in the morning and play like a rookie.
Play the game for at least half an hour before attempting any
multiplayer High Stakes duel, where losing the game means
losing your car.
Tip 3:
------
Successful High Stakes cornering is a specialized discipline.
You really shouldn't worry about slowing well in advance of a
turn.
Instead, go in fairly hot, hit the brakes with extreme force for
just a moment or two while you begin to crank the wheel, and get
right back on throttle again and power out.
Tip 4:
------
High Stakes cars respond well to torque. In other words, really
work that gearshift to keep engine RPM in the optimum range--just
over the redline. If you select an automatic tranny you will feel
the ignominy of last place.
Tip 5:

Take a car with good grip and snappy handling over a high-speed
monster any day. Of course, a top-of-the-line McLaren with full
upgrades is always preferable to a stock Firebird.
But if money is an issue, you can feel safe with a nicely upgraded
B-level model in a field of A-level cars, especially on the more

Do not, repeat, do not, brake while in the midst of a turn,
particularly when driving older automobiles. The EA version
of an antique Porsche has a tendency, and probably rightly
so, to seriously rock your world if you do, sending you into
a drift from which you may not recover. Instead, brake early,
turn smoothly, and accelerate on the exit.
There's no better way of ridding oneself of an annoying police
officer than by nudging him into a passing motorist or solid
roadside object.
Alternate routes are not always shortcuts. If you find yourself
consistently slow on a given course, check out all the routes
available to you before resorting to a different setup.
Go with the "front bumper" camera for the best results.
Here, the program doesn't have to pump out cockpit and driver

rebounds. Sure, the other guys will get their fair share of
breakaways (though you should try to eliminate them, too),
but an open man with a rebound is very dangerous indeed.
In short, ensure that any player standing in front of your
net, even if he has already shot, gets bounced.
One of the most wicked weapons you have in your arsenal is the
deflection. Send your winger at fast speed into an offensive
corner, then twirl him back toward the blue line; this gives
your two linemates time to get themselves in front of the
opponent's net. You'll next want to hit the Pass button while
pointing your player toward the net with the D-pad, then depress
the Shoot button just before the puck has reached your teammate.
The resulting change of direction can fool even the best goaltender.
Dekes are back! The NHL series has once again put a premium on
slick stickhandling as you're coming in on the goal.
A skilled player such as Pavel Bure or Joe Sakic will capitalize
on breakaways with a move to the right, then a move to the left
(or vice versa), and a quick shot to the open side.

Don't overuse the speed burst--passing is key, and if
you run too far ahead you will find your formation
lagging behind you.
When you find yourself in a fight, mixing up the
punches doesn't matter. After all, this isn't a
fighting game; the goal is to knock the other guy
down before he puts your lights out.
Skating backwards is a good way to throw off your
opponent. Although it may not seem effective at first,
once you are comfortable with the controls you can use
this move to maneuver away from defense.

Return to Ruby's apartment and use the letter on the pen pad

go in. Push the switch beside the window, open the window, making

In and Around the Deserted Subway Station
Enter through the doorway to the Deserted Station. Glancing around,
you will see that the ceiling has collapsed and has damaged the
bridge across the tracks to the entrance to the Zoo. While on the
platform, move down to the end of the platform and use the Bar to
knock down the Loudspeaker hanging just above and to the right of
the Info Booth. Pick up the Magnet that falls out and onto the floor.

Even though they may seem redundant, the training
missions will get you up to speed on using all your
weapons and gadgets.
Be very careful when trying to complete a stealth mission;
even brandishing your weapon can blow your cover.

The most effective way to move your troops and exploit
any weaknesses in the enemy's position is to use the
chain of command. Start by selecting your army commander,
expending all but one of his available initiative points.
Next, locate a subordinate corps commander and follow the
same directions. Finally, locate a subordinate division
commander within the corps, making sure to expend all of
his initiative points before you finally end your turn.

To get the most out of your cavalry, order them to dismount
prior to combat. During the American Civil War, mounted
cavalry was rarely ordered into battle as they were very

After game start, when you get control of the plane, type:
tomatoes
You will then warp to a special bonus level (all shoot become tomato
shape) and can get all special weapons. After the bonus level, you will
go to the final stage.
Cheat Edit
NovaStorm add life method:
use any hex editor, edit NOVASTRM.CFG (in c:\), change the first byte to
any number you like. The first byte is the number of plane (life).
You can even make the file read-only.

Run along the wall that has the arrow launcher on it and
it will not fire or not hit you. This is very helpful in
the Field Of Valor.

Use the Burn spell on dead zombies so they don't rise again.
You can reach through bars to pick up things.
Make a separate spell set for different types of spells
(defensive spells, offensive spells, healing spells, and
so on).
Keep your map toggled open so you can easily see darkened
doorways or small passages that are hard to see on the main
screen.
If it's made of wood-barrels, crates, boxes, and huge casks,
for instance-you can probably break it open.
By carefully maneuvering yourself, you can lead most monsters
through harmful areas, such as campfires and lava.
Nox Quest
Duplicate items:
----------------
Gather valuable items, especially diamonds, for your
inventory. Press [Esc] and exit to save your items.
Join the game again, find a poor Nox player, and dump
all your items. Press [F1] to display the console and
type exit to quit without saving. When you return to
the game, all your items from your previous save will
still be in your inventory.

Hints:

Save your gold and silver keys for the later levels, when
they'll unlock more valuable treasures.
It's easy to clear the lower levels by taking off on your
own, but stick with a party of characters during the higher
levels to increase your odds for survival.
Once you've found the exit, there's no hurry to leave a
level. Since you can carry so much stuff, look for hidden
areas to increase your score and find more spells and magic
items.
Nova 9
CheatMode:

Start the game with the nova9 sandman command line.
Press [Alt] + 7 for full shields. Additionally, a level
may now be replayed after losing all lives
Nations: WWII Fighter Command
Hints:
------
Shooting down bombers is never easy. Oftentimes, the best
tactic is to climb high above the bomber formation while
keeping your airspeed up. When you're in position, swoop
down on a bomber using a high angle of attack. After you've
completed your initial dive and attack, use your airspeed to
climb back up to the bomber's altitude, then destroy the
stricken bomber as quickly as possible.
Keep in mind that slower aircraft usually win in a scissor
attack. If you're jockeying for position with a nimble enemy
fighter, try dropping your flaps and reducing your airspeed
for a couple of seconds to get on his tail. After you get in
a few shots, increase power, raise and extend your flaps, then
maneuver into your next firing position to finish him off.
