We have some new pictures for your holiday enjoyment. Our photo album features a picture of us during our vacation in West Virginia. Steve tells more about his death-defying hike in Death Canyon in his holiday newsletter, and his biggest poker win ever. Wish you were here to share one of our fine apple pies! One is in a photo below.
This is Barbara and Steve on the Skyline Drive in West Virginia returning from their trip to Franklin, West Virginia, where they extended their knowledge and appreciation of cultural diversity.
Steve visited Death Canyon, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, on November 1st. There were no encounters with the local grizzlies. They were busy building up that final layer of fat before their long winter hibernation.
This is Barbara with one of our 2002 vintage apple pies. It was made from the best personally picked Jonathan apples from our favorite local orchard. Barbara now puts lots of raisins into the pies to make them even more stupendous.
Steve's winnings at poker reached a historic peak on October 4th as he won over $52.00 (Monopoly money, of course) in a hand of a game called Stock Market Crash Guts-- which was invented here in Troy, Michigan by Ira Wasserman. It is Guts played with three dummy hands and an obligation to put in on the first round.
Barbara wore her authentic, hand-made Richard III era costume to the Renaissance Festival this year. Barbara is hoping to get Steve in costume next year. Will Steve be Friar Tuck or Robin Hood? Stay tuned!
