STONEHENGE

STONEHENGE is built around 3000BC on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England (about 137 kilometers southwest of London). It has become a very popular tourist attraction in England.

It is exclusive not only because of its architecture but its relations to astronomy. The actual reasons for the people in the Neolithic period built such a massive structure remain mysterious as written evidence from that period is scarce. Hence, although many experts have tried to explain the functions of the Stonehenge, these attempts are not conclusive.

Therefore, our group have decided to do a project, attempting to explain the Stonehenge in relation to astronomy. This will then help us to answer questions like whether Stonehenge is used as an observatory.
