Meet Rogue:

Rogue started as 16 years old and is probably about 18 now. No one is quite sure of her real name and nothing is ever mentioned about it however, in the movie she was called Marie D'Ancanto.  (I wanna know who's idea it was to put Rogue with Iceman and i wanna have a nice long talk with him!!) Rogue means a mischievous person, a scamp or scoundrel. Her powers are quite unique and often a pain. If her skin makes contact with anyone else's skin she can suck the life energy out of them. She gains their memories and everything. Well putting it simply. It's not like she gains every thought you ever thought or everything you ever learned or every memory you have. She gains...pieces. A suppressed memory, a resent event, or even something tragic that you may always remember. She has no control over what thoughts and images she gets. What's worse, they stay in her head! Also if you know a different language she may be able to speak a little of it temporarily. Unless she was constantly practicing it, it would probably just fade into her mind as all the other people she has touched do. If she makes contact with a mutant she absorbs their power temporarily. From what episodes we have seen so far, we can make the conclusion that Rogue was adopted by Mystique at age four and then sometime after that was adopted and raised by Irene AKA Destiny. Meghan Black does Rouge's voice.

*On a side note about Marie D'Ancanto, in Xtreme X-men 31, Marie D'Ancanto is actually an Anti-Mutant terrorist who tried to commit a bombing at a club Rogue and everyone was at. Rogue and Sam stopped her. This was made after the movie and they did it on purpose cause they said ealier they were going to bring movie characters in.

Rogue's Personality:

Rogue is a very lonely sad insecure person. I think she acts like a grouch sometimes and isolates herself just because she doesn't want to hurt anyone or be betrayed. She truly does want to be close to people. But she does have friends and more and more she seems to realize it. In episode 11 "Shadowed Past", after Rogue has her nightmares notice how Kitty and everyone else run into her room to find out if she's ok. In episode 25 "Power Surge" she volunteers to absorb some of Jean's power since Xavier says she has to much of it and can't control it. She knew the risks. Then when Scott asks her why she did it, she admits that Jean would have done the same for her. After Rogue clasps from draining Juggernaut's power in "The Stuff of Heroes" Jean and Scott run to her to make sure she is ok. When she first joined the X-Men she really didn't trust anyone. But then after awhile she realized that these people were her friends and starting trusting people. But then, after the betrayal thing with Risty, I'm sure Rogue is having a much harder time finding trust and even questing trusting anyone.
I mean imagine the fear. Mystique could be anyone. Cerebro can't tract her, Wolverine can't scent her. Rogue must be afraid to even make friends at school (if someone where by chance to actually want to be friends with a mutant) due to fear her new best friend just might turn out to be Mystique again.
