The book contains 42 tunes. Some of the tunes also have harmonies written for them. There are Marches, Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs, Hornpipes and Slow Airs. Some of these tunes have been played in competiton: both solo and band. Five of the tunes were written by Pipe Major Alexander Geddes. Mr. Geddes was a professional piper with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers in the 1920's and 1930's. After retiring from the Army, he was P/Sgt. of the 4/5 Battalion, The Black Watch (T.A.) Later, during World War II he was the Pipe Major of an amalgamated Royal Engineers pipe band. After the war, he was Pipe Major of the Broughty Ferry Pipe Band, near Dundee, Scotland. The rest of the tunes were written by me. Perry Gauthier(composer of many good tunes) and Jack Fuller, at Socan, gave me a lot of encouragment. The tunes were written using Robert MacNeil's Bagpipe Music Writer software. Sonnie Armstrong and Jeff Jack worked on the cover photo and Robin Wilson on the cover layout.
