San Renard's Rant: Hmm good question, well I'ma go with the randomly picked, almost too smooth way, Sonic and Sally beat Dr. Robotnik and smashed up his little "village" in that TV show I believe is called SatAM which I haven't seen since I were like 14. Well that just made me raise an eye brow, it was like.... "Oh look at the time! we need to finish this episode! Doodoodeee tralala" I could prolly think of more things but not tonight. Mitch's Rant: Ok this is something we all have noticed about the comic book Sonic the Hedgehog. There is no longer a plot!! I mean what the hell. First its starts out there all going to defeat robotnick then the next there all in these costumes acting like the super friends. Were the hell did that idea come from? Aren't they suppose to be going after robotnick? well thats all I have to say, For now. Darkearthsprite's Rant: In the dubbed version of the Sonic anime with metal you notice at one point Sonic yells the words "WHAT YOU SAY!?!?!" XD I play through the games and watch all the movies I have and get back to you with more X3. Lostkittykat's Rant: Oh ho! Love Sonikuu as i do, but i have a lot of gripes about the comics and the games. 1. Comics: While Archie does somewhat of an okay job with the art, i have to say that their whole universe is really a flop. Mobius? I've read around at various other sites and Archie replaced Earth with Mobius. =/ Not cool. Secondly, the characters themselves that they created come off as somewhat annoying. Take Bunny for example. ::cringe:: Plus, what's up with Sonikuu's addiction to chili dogs? That's just not right! Or an even better example would be of Knuckles and the somewhat whacked out storyline they have for him and his family. The games put him as being the last of his kind. And Archie Comics goes and creates this massive family tree for him. Something's wrong there. 2. Cartoons: Well, i dunno. SATam is based on the comic, and plus, watching it when you were only about 8-9 years old was somewhat scary with the robotization process. AoSTH, it was okay, but it was too wacky. Sonic Underground...::shivers:: the guy who was Steve Urkeel (Jamel White) was the voice of Sonic (& his 2 siblings) in all three series. Scary. The Anime was kick ass since it had Metalla in it. But the translating company could have tried to get better voices. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles sound like they have colds. =P Games: Ah. The thing that started it all. I really have to say that the games for the most part were okay, except those produced by Sega of America. Sega of America is responsible for the creation of the Archie Comic, so you can start to see where i'm coming from. They came out with too many generic Sonic-knock-off games that got really annoying. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine? You gotta be kidding me. Not to worry though, since Sega of Japan cut off their work in 1996 when the Saturn went under. But they still developed Sonic Adventure 2. Which brings me to my next point about the games... While i love Sonic Adventure 2 with all my heart since it gave me Shadow to love, i have to say that it has the worst plot and loop holes seen in any Sonic game to date. They give you so little to go on in the story that you have to piece together a lot of things in the plot as you play through. Most of which is still left open after you've beaten the whole story mode. I honestly didn't know that Maria was shot until i played through it 5 or 6 more times. Or whether or not Shadow really was the Ultimate Life form, since they switched names between him and the Biolizard on a regular basis. Jessicapadkin's Rant: Actually, the thing that annoys me the most about Sonic is some of the fans! People arguing about whether Amy or Sally or Mina or Shadow or WHOEVER is meant to be Sonic's partner for REAL... ARGH! I mean... being fond of certain pairings is fine, but when these 12 year old anime fans (by that I mean mainstream anime usually, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dragonball Z shown on Cartoon Network or summit) actually start whinging that so-and-so is an idiot because they think Amy should be with Sonic and -HINE, WHINGE-this person likes Sally (or vice versa)... god that's pathetic. Is this SONIC THE HEDGEHOG or DAWSON'S CREEK?! Then there's these dumbasses who cuss fans of SatAM or STC or whatever because they aren't 'real'. Disgusting piles of recto-discharge! Nobody claims that those were the original or 'real' (stupid term for it... my STCs don't cease to exist no matter how many people tell me they aren't real) universes, because NOBODY CARES! WHY can't people judge things for themselves instead of having to be told what to think?! "Oh, I think your fanfic is a load of crap because you say they live on Mobius and a few days ago I learnt that dirty AMERICANS came up with that! WTF OMG LOL?!" As someone who always really liked the games more than anything, my opinion feels pretty redundant now with all these irritating 3l33t kiddies throwing their unfounded robotic opinions in our faces, trying to destroy originality. I like the US and EU Sonic regionalisations too (obviously they worked, since Sonic was FAR more popular in the US and UK than in Japan...), I like the name 'Robotnik' and I like some of the other regional names too (come on, does anyone really think a dumb name like 'Pecky the Penguin' is better than a cool name like 'Tux'?). Now I think some of the Japanese storylines are a lot better, but I still love the stuff that made me fall in love with Sonic when I was 9 years old. I dislike the Archie comics for a reason other than 'they aren't real'. I have a brain in my head (somewhere) and I can make opinions for myself. Phew. Sorry about the rant there. I've wanted to rant about that for a while, but nobody ever listens! *tumbleweed* Wolfiegoatjerk's Rant: One thing I can't stand about Sonic is the way he talks in SATAM and Aosth series, and even the comics a little. I can't stand that he can't keep up a conversation because he's so full of bad puns and catch phrases. Especially obnoxioux ones like "i'm waaaiiting" (cringe). For once, i'd like to hear sonic saying he's running really really fast rather than juicing. The fact that Jaleel white did his voice didn't help any. I liked the Anime alot because Sonic wasn't deliberately made overly "Cool" by wierd adults. I liked the voices alot too. I really can't stand Tails either because he wounds like a 5 year old. He's all "wow sonic can i go with you". Sonic is like "no, i don't care that you are in almost all the sega games, you're too young and stupid." The few times i watched Aosth i actually liked Robotnik, Scratch, and Grounder better than all the characters i was supposed to like. The Anime was good because Tails wasn't 5, he was pretty intelligent and him and Sonic were friends, rather than Super hero and impressionable youngster. that's all i can think of right now. ~Toshiya's Rant: I gotta say though. I really do hate the fact that Tails is made to be such a whimp in the 'dubbed' sonic cartoons. You know... the old ones they used to show on the WB at 7 am? I used to watch it all the time. Sonic was the tough one and Tails was always getting captured -.-;; Also. I hate the fact that knuckles doesn't appear in any of the cartoon series. Only the movie :3 I love knuckles! He should be more appreciated. That is all. Marus's Rant: Sonic x sucks it's like a show for 2 year olds I’m only 11 and I hate that Crap god why do people like it just cause its Sega sonic, Listen if Sega of Japan new what happened to it when it was dubbed they would kill the f#ck box (Know known as 4 kids who are bratty toddlers TV) even aosth was better than This. Hamlover's Rant: Y'know, I liked Shadow when he first came out, he was cool. Also giving your life too save the world was cool too. HOWEVER. Since he somehow came back to life just in time to be in Sonic Heroes ONLY SUFFERING a mild case of "oops, forgot everything except my name and I'm the ultimate life and I want to do Maria even though she's a little girl' a after a crash through the atmosphere and into water WHICH NORMALLY KLLED HIM IN-GAME. He kinda lost the cool factor. AND since Sega loves money more than the original fans, plus a most decisive web poll, they decided to half-ass Shadow his own game because an angsty hedgehog who swears and uses a gun is more awesome than Sonic. Imagine having a gun on Sonic 2 and then tell me you don't resent what Sega's becoming. Just imagine if Rouge was the winner of that poll. "ROUGE'S BIG BREAST ADVENTURE, EXTREME CARTOON BAT HENTAI EXTRAVAGANZA." Somehow it just doesn't seem the same as a friendly romp through Emerald Hill to stop that bad guy Robotnik. [End of rants]
