Hur sätter
man en injektion på ett säkert sätt??
DU BEHÖVER
- alkohol för rengöring av
injektion plats. Sterilt vatten (för steroider som blandas med
vatten)
- en 2.5 ml eller 5 ml
injektionsspruta (beroende på dosering)
- ifall du använder en olje baserad
steroid behöver du en grövre nål att använda som uppsugningsnål 1,2
x 40 (den rosa)
- en 0,8 x 40 nål för att spruta in
steroiden (den gröna)
- ett säker ställe att slänga det
använda utrustningen t.ex. en mjölkkartong.
FÖRBEREDELSE
- tvätta händerna och injektion
platsen, rengör gummi hylsan på flaskan (ifall det finns).
- om du använder en vatten baserad
steroid, skaka flaskan tills mixturen är upplöst.
- fäst en 1,2 x 40 nål till en
injektionssprutan, se till att du har 0.5 ml luft i
injektionsspruta så blir det lättare att suga upp steroiden. Sug upp
steroiden. Plocka av nålen och placera den på säkert ställe.
- fäst en 0,8 x 40 nål till
injektionssprutan. Hålla injektionsspruta upprätt och tryck ut
överflödig luft ur injektionssprutan. Knacka lite på
injektionssprutan för att få upp luftbubblorna till toppen och tyck
ut den sista luften.
INNAN INJEKTIONEN, KONTROLLERA ATT
DU HAR RÄTT STEROID OCH ATT DET ÄR "RÄTT DOSERING"
INJEKTIONS TEKNIK
1. Välj injektions plats
2. Tvätta injektion platsen noggrant med alkohol eller med tvål och
vatten.
3. Håll injektionssprutan som om det var en dartpil, mellan tumme och
pekfinger. Med den andra handen, sträcker du ut huden vid injektion
platsen
4.Tryck in nålen i nittio grader med tillräckligt kraft för att den
ska gå igenom hud och muskel. Trycka in nålen cirka 2/3 av dennes
längd.
5. Dra tillbaka pumpen en liten bit.
6. Om du får blod i injektionsspruta, så har du träffat en blodåder.
Dra ut injektionsspruta och försök igen.
7. När du är säker på att du inte sprutar in i en blodåder, tryck in
steroiden med en mjuk rörelse.
8. Gnugga injektions platsen med en ren bomullstuss för att till
sprida ut steroiden och för att minska smärtan.
9. Tyck på injektions stället med en bomullstuss tills det slutat att
blöda..
VAR SKA MAN SÄTTA SPRUTAN
Det bästa injektion platserna är i de
större musklerna så som skinka, lår och övre delen av armen. Att
variera injektion platserna minskar risken för ärrbildning.
Skinkan
Det kan vara svårt att själv sätta
sprutan i skinkan på ett säkert sätt. Be en vän som vet hur man sätter
en spruta att hjälpa dig.
Dela upp skinkan i fyra delar så att
det bildas fyra kvadrater.
Injicera i den övre/yttre fjärdedel
av skinkan, där det inte finns några stora nerver. Sciaticnerven går
igenom mitten av skinkan, om man träffar den med en nål kan det orsaka
en beständig skada. Injicera alltid i övre/yttre fjärdedelen av
skinkan. (Om man träffar en nerv och känner smärta på injektion
stället, drag omedelbart ut nålen och tryck på område några minuter.
En påse med krossad is minskar smärtan något.)
Lår
Dela in låret i tre delar (från knä till höft). Injicera i yttre delen
av mittdelen.
Arm
Dela område från armbåge till axel i
tre delar och injicera i övre yttre tredjedelen. (deltoid muskeln)
TIPS
Injektion Platser
- Variera injektion platsen - om man
använder en samma injektion plats hela tiden, kommer ärrbildning att
utvecklas. Ärrbildningen kan bli sårig, inflammerad eller hård. Och
den kommer även att hindra uppsugningen av steroiden.
- Vidrör, andas eller hosta inte på
nål eller injektion plats.
VARNING
Att dela nål och sprutor eller
steroider med andra kan orsaka
HIV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B,
Hepatitis C och svåra infektioner.
Använd alltid ny nål och dela aldrig
med andra.
INJECTION PROCEDURE
Injecting oil based steroids ( deca durabolin,
masteron, primobolan, sustanon, testosterone enathate ) is done with
intramuscular needle ( 1,5 inch long ), while water
based steroids ( testosterone suspension and winstrol depot ) are
injection with smaller and shorter subskin needle ( 0,5 inch long ).
What to look for before injecting.
1. Expiry dates
. Check the expiry dates of every product.
2. Product
. Make sure that the vial or ampoule contains the right drug in the
right strength.
3. Sterility
. During the whole preparation procedure, material should be kept
sterile.
. Wash your hands before starting to prepare the injection.
. Disinfect the skin over the injection site.
4. Bubbles
. Make sure that there are no air bubbles left in the syringe.
5. Sterility again
. Once the protective cover of the needle is removed extra care is
needed.
. Do not touch anything with the unprotected needle.
. Once the injection has been given take care not to prick yourself or
somebody else.
6. Waste
. Make sure that contaminated waste is disposed of safely.
7. Materials needed
Vial with required liquid or solution, syringe of the appropriate size,
needle of right size (im, sc, or iv) on syringe, disinfectant, gauze.
8. Step by step for vials
1. Wash your hands.
2. Disinfect the top of the vial.
3. Use a syringe with a volume of twice the required amount of liquid
or solution and add the needle.
4. Suck up as much air as the amount of solution needed to aspirate.
5. Insert needle into (top of) vial and turn upside down.
6. Pump air into vial (creating pressure).
7. Aspirate the required amount of solution and 0.1 ml extra. Make
sure the tip of the needle is below the fluid surface.
8. Pull the needle out of the vial.
9. Remove possible air from the syringe.
10. Clean up; dispose of waste safely; wash your hands.
8. Materials needed
Syringe of appropriate size, needle of required size, ampoule with
required drug or solution, gauze.
9. Step by step for ampoules
1. Wash your hands.
2. Put the needle on the syringe.
3. Remove the liquid from the neck of the ampoule by flicking it or
swinging it fast in a downward spiraling movement.
4. File around the neck of the ampoule.
5. Protect your fingers with gauze if ampoule is made of glass.
6. Carefully break off the top of the ampoule (for a plastic ampoule
twist the top).
7. Aspirate the fluid from the ampoule.
8. Remove any air from the syringe.
9. Clean up; dispose of working needle safely; wash your hands.
10. Materials needed
Syringe with the drug to be administered (without air), needle (Gauss
22, long and medium thickness; on syringe), liquid disinfectant,
cotton wool, adhesive tape.
11. Injecting - step by step
1. Wash your hands.
2. Reassure yourself / patient's for procedure.
3. Uncover the area to be injected (lateral upper quadrant major
gluteal muscle, lateral side of upper leg, deltoid muscle).
4. Disinfect the skin.
5. Relax the muscle.
6. Insert the needle swiftly at an angle of 90 degrees (watch depth!).
7. Aspirate briefly; if blood appears, withdraw needle. Replace it
with a new one, if possible, and start again from point 4.
8. Inject slowly (less painful).
9. Withdraw needle swiftly.
10. Press sterile cotton wool onto the opening. Fix with adhesive
tape.
11. Check yourself / patient's reaction and give additional
reassurance, if necessary.
12. Clean up; dispose of waste safely; wash your hands.
