Mandy's School Work
Welcome to my display of work from PS1.
I Remember....
- ...the Barbapapas.
- ...practicing skating on cardboard pieces Dad put on the basement floor.
- ...being able to stay on the balance beam while doinga cartwheel.
- ...Sunday afternoon movies at the Rec Centre on the military base.
- ...swimming in the Pacific Ocean, hoping the crabs wouldn't bite my feet.
- ...the pain of my first childbirth.
- ...that it took me five days to feel like the baby I just gave birth to was mine and mine to love.
- ...putting my parents car in neutral and feeling the terror as it slowly backed onto the middle of the road, and being six years old, not being able to do anything about it!
- ...climbing on the garage roof.
- ...skating on the garden which Dad made into a skating rink every winter.
- ...my friend Bernadette who always squirmed in her seat and the teacher thought she had worms.
- ...Science class in Grade 2 when I found out bananas have seeds.
- ...penny carnivals at school.
- ...having to write lines or copy dictionary pages.
- ...7 hour ferry rides that made me seasick no matter how much Gravol I took.
- ...being afraid of the scary-looking kids on my wallpaper and not being able to sleep facing the wall.
- ...climbing up the walls in the hallway with my bare feet and hands to have the "perfect hiding spot" for hide and seek.
- ...pick-a-pop from the bus depot.
- ...riding our bikes 25km to go for a bike "road trip" to the local landmark, Toe Hill, but forgetting to leave our parents a note!
- ...My Little Ponies
- ...Strawberry Shortcake...
- ...my grandpa teaching me to dip baby potatoes in buttermilk.
- ...Mr. Mugs in Language Arts
- ...Cabbage Patch Kids
- ...always having homemade Halloween costumes.
- ...grandpa's missing thumb and when we poked the stub he would say "beep, beep"!
- ...how grandma always horded food or free samples in her purse to "save for later".
- ...flying over a barbed wire fence after losing control of my ATV and waking up 10 minutes later with my helmet scratched because of the big rock my head landed on!
Ode To My Rectal Sphincter
(a collaborative effort from the Science Majors!)
You are my favorite sphincter,
Through runny times and hard times,
You keep my white pants white.
Thank you for giving TP a job;
it's only two-ply for you!
You provide relief after a night of debauchery;
give you a match and you are the life of the party.
You have a voice of your own,
often leaving us standing alone.
Rectal sphincter, you are the end of a one-way street........for some!
I Can't Imagine
Imagine...
Father...
Not Hearing From...
Not Knowing...
Curiosity...
Checking up...
Entering
Finding...
Death...
Knowing.
