In today's other Umbro Trophy Semi Final Forest Green Rovers turned over Hereford United 4-1 in their own back yard. The tie was balanced at 2-2 before today's second leg and Hereford where favorites to make it through but just like in our tie the underdogs made it through. Frank Bennett and Alex Meechan put Forest Green 2 up in the first half hour before Hereford grabbed themselves a lifeline through a Ian Wright goal. Forest Green finished the job off thanks to two goals late in the second half from Adrian Foster and Chris Burns.
In today's league games both Rushden and Diamonds and Yeovil Town picked up three points.
Rushden and Diamonds emphatically beat Morecambe 4-1 at Nene Park. A Duane Darby hat trick and a Jon Brady strike secured three points for Rushden.
Yeovil on the other hand where forced to work mighty hard for their three points. Kingstonian had the lead on three occasions but each time Yeovil equalised and in the 90th minute top scorer Warren Patmore fired home a cruel winner to keep Yeovil's promotion push on track but put Kingstonian in more relegation trouble.
Stevenage Borough and Nuneaton Borough fought out a 1-1 draw. Sam McMahon gave Stevenage the lead with a shot from the edge of the area but Nuneaton Borough's new striker Paul Barnes equalised for Boro in the second half.
Dagenham's promotion push is probably now over as they dropped two points on the top two teams after they drew 0-0 with Telford United at Victoria Road.
In the relegation battle Kettering Town boosted their chances of survival after they beat Scarborough 1-0 at the McCain Stadium thanks to a Brown strike.
In the other game played today in the Conference Hayes beat Southport 1-0 at Church Road thanks to a Rocky Baptiste strike.
