al Qaeda

al Qaeda is a terrorist network.

They are responsible for terrorist attacks. They have twice attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. In the early 90's, the WTC was bombed. On September 11th, planes were hijacked and ran into the towers. They soon collapsed causing a great panick on America.

Osama bin Laden is a head man in the al Qaeda organisation.

This organisation is behind many awful acts. There are terrorist training camps sent up. They also teach some people to be suicide bombers.

This organisation is part of the threat against America in the war on terror.

Many head members of al Qaeda are wanted by countries.

al Qaeda members fought with Taliban supporters in Afghanistan against American soldiers and the Northern Alliance. Many al Qaeda terrorists were either killed or captured and placed in Cuban prisons.

John Walker Lindh is an American Taliban supporter who helped al Qaeda. He said that he actually met bin Laden.

This terrorist organisation is known more now than ever due to September 11, 2001.

The United States hopes to get rid of al Qaeda.
