FF7, although it deviates a bit from the traditional lines (mostly because it was released for Playstation instead of SNES) is a very well-done game. The graphics are really quite good considering when it came out, and are still fairly good, even judged by current standards. The plot can be a little confusing at times (I had to play through twice til I understood it completely) but in general it's very intriguing. The translation, however, is pretty bad...but it usually doesn't get in the way of anything, and it's really funny, so I'm not docking points for that. In spite of what the critics said, I'm inclined to think the music is really good. True, it's a different style than other FFs, but there are some really good songs. If you want a medieval feel, play the older FFs, but FF7 is better for scifi/modern fantasy lovers.
