HOW TO
COPY, CUT AND PASTE
TEXT

  • First go to the text you want to copy.
  • Push the "cmd" key and the "A" key at the same time.
  • The text should now be highlighted
  • Now, push the "cmd" key and the "C" key at the same time. (to remember it, think of c meaning cut.)
  • You should hear a faint sound letting you know it worked
  • Now you can go to where you want to place the text. It will be there until you copy some other text, so don't worry about losing it
  • Push "cmd" and "V" at the same time to paste your text . You can keep pasting the same text in multiple areas. It won't disappear until you cc&p another text in it's place
  • You can try it out in the text area I've included below.

What if you don't want to copy the whole page?

  • To only copy part of a page, press the "find" key. (It's on the top row of your keyboard)
  • Type in the first few letters of the text you want to copy, and press "return".
  • Those few letters should be highlighted.
  • Now use the "shift" key and the "arrow" keys to move the cursor so that all of the text you want to copy is highlighted.
  • Press "cmd" and "C". Don't press "cmd" and "A" by mistake, or everything will be highlighted and you'll have to start over again.
  • Now you continue as before, go to where you want the text and paste.
  • You can try it out in the text area I've included below.

    • To delete single lines of text, push "cmd" key and "delete" key at the same time.

    • To delete large portions of text, use the find key as described above and highlight the entire portion you need to delete.
      Now pust "cmd" and "X".

    • If you are using the "find" key, but the word appears more than once on the page, the place where the word appears first on the page will be highlighted. To highlight the next occurance of the word, push "cmd" and the "G" key. To scroll back up the page, use "cmd" and the "B" key
