First off you need to get some hair wax, i suggest knotty boy dread wax. You can get this and dred shampoo and other neat stuff at www.knottyboy.com ok if you have all the stuff you need lets get started shall we?
Ok first take the first section of hair you want to be dreded and back comb it (back combing means to comb your hair twards the roots) start at the roots and end at the tips, once you got the hair section back combed really good get about a dime size of wax and work it into your hair, then use a little more untill you cant see the wax but your hair feels like a candel, and you done! woopie!
Ok, now dont wash your hair for about 2 weeks with your new dreds in, but after that 2 weeks wash your hair as much as you want just dont use conditioner! and keep back combing and twisting and playing with your hair as much as possible so they lock up faster, and other than that im ganna hafta say piece out for now, i will have pics up of my dreds as soon as i get some thanks!
