Thera Antitakis
Shadow Atlantis Benedict Trumps of the couple About the game and Thera's player Home

Thera was the only child of Nerenna and Ptolem Anitakis. She was set to enter an apprenticeship under the stewardship of Master Leukippos of the Academy of Sciences at the age of eight, but all those plans were swiftly changed a year before when her parents, both Artisans of the Dancing Fires, were killed in a freak cave in during an inspection of fire gem veins in the mines of Mt. Miriokefala.

Orphaned and bound by long tradition, Thera's path now lay within the Temple system. She lived for several years with a aunt at the Temple of Nerissa, going to school with the other of Atlantis's children to study the usual courses of mathmatics, history, philosophy, science, religion and the arts. Her appititude in science led to further study in alchemy under the tutelage of the Temple system's mages and eventually she was recommended for attendance at the University of Alatza in the city of Lakonis to begin the path of the mage, only taking time out to train and participate in the Bull Dances when she was seventeen.

It was during her study at the University that she was tested and placed into the battle mage field of study until such a time as she was deemed ready to return to to the capital city and begin studying at the Temple of Ashura to begin preparation for her Crystal Initation.

Thera rarely left the complex unless forced to or duty called for it, as it sometimes did, or to participate in the various religous rites at other temples. Her favorite place outside of the complex was the Temple of Nerissa, a haven of music and tranquility that surpassed even the tranquil meditation garden of Ashura. Her sojurns into the Temple of Celestra were annually to celebrate the goddess's high holy day in the spring. She considered anything else frivilous and tended to avoid it whenever possible.

After her successful Initation into the Crystal of Ghaia, she turned her attentions on mastering the Crystal of Nerissa, even though the mortality rate for double initiates was frighteningly high. Between her studies, she taught classes to those preparing for the Initation to the Power of Ghaia, focusing all her free time on her own preparations.

Her Initation into the second Tier of Power left her bedridden for three weeks, but she had become one of the few that now held within them the imprint of two powers. It did nothing to discourage her from preparing for the Path of the Sea.

It was during the time of her preparation for the Third Tier that she met a one armed stranger who, despite his handicap, still managed to soundly trounce Atlantis's best in single combat. Having her nose stuck in book, she had missed the show, but her curiosity was peaked, along with everyone else's, and she made a point of meeting the brown haired stranger during his stay and somehow found herself his official tour guide.

Over the next several years, Benedict became a regular visitor to Atlantis, to the complex and to Thera. But while they grew closer and their relationship deepended, it wasn't until after she had completed her final Crystal initiation and she had met some of his siblings that they were finally married.

Though Atlantis maintained neutraily through Patterfall, Thera was granted permission by the Emperor to go into battle with her husband. It was in that battkle that they were seperated when she was critically injured, only to wake up in Atlantis, delivered by the same ones that had brought her down and seperated her from Benedict.

She was not pleased to discover upon recovery that she could not leave to rejoin Ben and that he had, in fact, been injured as well and returned "to his people".

Upon the sudden death of the Emperor, she, and many others, were shocked to learn that the council had argeed to hand over the reins of rulership to Llewella of Rebma, turning their backs on thousands of years of tradition and the Emperor's heir.

In the midst of it all, Thera has discovered a a closely guarded secret of Atlantis: The Crystal Powers are not the limit to Atlantis' magic, or her power.
