GRADUATION

I graduated from South Hopkins High School in Nortonville, KY in June of 1984. I had been a member of the Beta Club and was given a gold chord. That night, I was very surprised when it was announced that I was the winner of the Family Living Award. Mrs. Bivins had chosen me as the receiver of this award. I remember it was very hot in the gymnasium. I wore my black suit that night.

I was so excited about graduating and getting out of school, but that night after the ceremony, I saw several of the girls crying and hugging each other. I realized that I would probably never see some of my classmates again. Even though it was a happy time, it was kind of sad.

Since that time, South Hopkins High School has closed down. I still keep in touch with a few of my classmates. I will always fondly remember my high school years.
