Saturday April 29 ALLENS CREEK CLEAN UP
Volunteers needed for the annual Allens Creek Clean Up. Organized by
local residents to clean up and preserve this often overlooked water way
in the middle of Pinellas County. They need paddlers to assist the
clean up. A limited number of kayaks will be availible for use. All
volunteers who check in through Osprey Bay Kayaks will recieve a t-shirt for
your participation. A lunch is to follow the clean up.

Sunday April 30, 10 am MYAKKA RIVER
This is a narrow winding river of dark water with lots of alligators
and wildlife. Short to medium plastic boats preferred. Trip length
roughly 3 - 4 hours. Park is great for camping, biking, hiking. Plan
ahead for camping reservations. Directions: Take I-275 south to I-75.
Go south on I-75 to SR 72. Go east (left) on SR 72. Myakka River State
Park is on the left about 10 miles. Pay fee at gate and meet in
parking lot behind ranger station.

Sunday April 30, 10 am SUNCOAST KEYS
Due west of Homosassa. Launch at John Brown Road Ozello. Paddle Salt
River and
St. Martin River. Unique opportunity to see sponges in their natural
habitat.

SPLASH, The Miami South Beach Watersports Festival
6 Mile Fun Kayak Race at 10:00 AM.
LOCATION: 10th Street and Ocean Drive on the beach
ENTRY FEE: $25.00
RACE COURSE: 6 miles for all categories. Two laps on a 3 mile triangular course along
South Beach, starting and finishing at the Watersports Festival on 10th Street going to
17th St and passing by the Jose Cuervo Artificial Reef (Sinking Bar) on 3rd St.

Men Masters (40 and up)
Surf Ski (all ages)

Sunday May 28, 9:00 am HILLSBOROUGH RIVER
This is a good trip for most size boats. River can be winding; moderate flow. We will travel up river first. Trip length will be 3 - 4 hours. Directions: Take I-75 or 275 into north Tampa (N. Hillsborough County). Exit on Fletcher Ave. and head east. Fletcher turns into Morris Bridge Rd., follow east. Turn into Morris Bridge Park (left). Meet at launch.
