Forget - Me - Not magazine for girls

Regular Columns:

FORGET-ME-NOT is a publication for young ladies ages 9-19, although any age would enjoy. It is produced by a home-schooled, Christian girl, and its goal is to edify, encourage, and urge young ladies to have virtuous morals and high standards. The editress readily accepts submissions and loves letters from the readers (even if they aren’t subscribers). ÝÝPlease include your birth-date, e-mail address, and a little about yourself and family when you write.ÝÝ ** This website is very small at the time, and I would like to expand it; however the purpose of FMN is not to impress with it's size, (since it circulates to only 30+ readers) but small and home-like atmosphere where all are welcomed and surrounded with Godly truth and love. ** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ABOUT SUBSCRIPTIONS: The goal of FMN is to be a safe-haven in troubled times, to lift up, and to encourage! :) A subscription to “Forget - Me - Not” is free of charge. ($1-2 for sample issues, or two 33 cent stamps.) I recently decided it would reach more people and have more feed-back if it was free. But I encourage you to submit articles. Donations are GREATLY appreciated and help immensely. It is sent out only when we have enough articles and help with copying and sending. Please tell your friends about Forget-Me-Not magazine, we are a non-profit organization and operate only through your support. I so appreciate your letters -- don’t fail to write (or e-mail) me! Your encouragement is what keeps this small publication going. Any letters received will be reviewed for publishing unless indicated otherwise. If you would like to place an add for your magazine in FMN, it is free and will run for 2 issues. Ý ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE INVITATION for anyone who would be interested to write in and receive a “The Meeting Place” questionnare is open. Age & experience doesn’t matter - good & interesting answers do. If you, or someone you know would be interested in sharing their thoughts, interests, and opinions, please write in today for your application. Note: You DO NOT have to be a subscriber to receive a questionnare. Ý ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHEN WE STARTED: Forget-Me-Not was started in 1997 when I was inspired by the now out of print magazine Kindred Spirits. It encouraged me that I could also start my own home-based magazine for girls. I started by just sending it to family, and from there it has expanded. Since then I have found that many other girls do the same thing. So thanks to all of those wonderful magazine which have encouraged and prayed me on! And of course I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family and God. Ý ~The suggested price for FMN is $10 dollars a year.~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ COLUMNS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO: We have a monthly column called “Jewels” which is a character study that we encourage you to interact with! Please feel free to write a character review or share your thoughts on one discussed in the past. Ý “Corner Of Eden” is one of my favorite parts of “F-M-N”. It is a column featured in each issue where readers can share their hearts through peaceful thoughts, beautiful poems and words of insight. We will “bare our souls and tell the most appalling secrets.” :) Please send in your favorite quotes and sayings quickly! Ý ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF: My name is Melissa and I hail from Texas. We moved here 5 years ago from our native Indiana so my father (Marc) could go to a local Bible college. My dad is a salesmen at a local a/c and heat company. My mom (Julie) home-schools my youngest brother Micah and I. Micah is 11 and Marc Jr. is 23 and is married to Shelly. They are expecting a baby any day now and just moved into a nice apartment at the campus where we used to live!) My many interests are studying Shakespeare, photography, reading, writing :), listening to music, and watching old movies. We have an perfectly adorable cat named Siam and one dog, Johnny. And when I “grow up” :) I would love to be a photographer, director (I'm to shy to act :)), or homemaker. Ý ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “But oh, if grief thy steps attend, / If want, if sickness, be thy lot, / And thou require a soothing friend, / Simply call; / Forget me not! Forget me not!" Ý
