Alrighty then, this is the part of my little tutorial where I explain special animations for doll icons. I'm always asked questions pertaining to animation such as winking, head shaking, bug eyes and blowing kisses. Ask no more, I bear the answers.

Genearlly when I do animations as such, I magnify the image I'm working with. Given that these animations require actual drawing, it's easier to do when magnified. I usually magnify them 6 times.. (it looks like this on the toolbar, after clicking the magnifying glass)

*Winking*
First off, you have to have your doll icon. Here is mine. --
Then magnify the image and it should be HUGE.. like this. --

Once it is gigantore, like such, you can easily draw. To make a doll wink, draw over the chosen winking eye. Pick a color for eyeshadow, and color over the eye except for a black line at the bottom. It should look like this..

Save it separately, as these are frames for your animation. Take the two frames to your animator. Change the speed of the animation, so that the frame with the eye closed is quicker than the others.. because who really winks slowly? Durrhh! *hehe* My finished winking doll icon looks like this.

*Head Shaking*
To make a doll shake her head, you need to cut a box around the head, not going any further than the chin.
Example: --
Go to IMAGE, and click on FLIP/ROTATE. Select "FLIP HORIZONTAL". This will make the head be facing the opposite direction, if necessary move the head to the left or the right so that is aligned properly with the rest of the body.

Save it as a different frame. Once animated, it should look like this..

*Bugged Out Eyes*

This effect isn't used too much, probably because I made it up. However, whenever I use it, I find it to be funny as hell. I magnify my doll, and redraw the eyes so that the extend downward.. like such

When put into an animation, it should look like this.

*Blowing Kisses*
To make your doll blow kisses, once again magnify you image. Click the icon on the toolbar with the picture of an eyedropper on it. This tool sucks up whatever color you click it on for your use in drawing. (That way you don't have to look for a matching color.) Suck up the skin color of your doll and draw over the mouth so that it looks like this..

Yet again, save it as a different frame, and animated.. it should look like this..

Thus ending my icon tutorial, I hope I was helpful! =)
