"Don't Wanna Lose You Now" Chapters 11 - 15

(~) Chapter 11 (~)

JC and Melissa walked back into Kelliey's house hand in hand. Melissa was going to burst soon if she didn't tell someone about the sudden proposal.

"Kelliey?? Where are you? I need to tell you something!" Melissa called out, as she looked at JC and smiled.

"I'm in the kitchen Mel." she called back.

Melissa sprinted towards the kitchen, pulling JC behind her.

"Girl, do I ever have something to tell you." Melissa said excitedly.

Kelliey stood up from the table and eyed the hand-in-hand pair, "Well spit it out already!" Kellyie stated laughing.

"Well, let's just say this, I don't know when, but sometime, you're going to be flying out to Orlando to be in a wedding." Melissa said smiling as she held up her hand to show the ring on her finger.

Kellyie's eyes widened when she saw the ring on her finger. She grabbed her hand and pulled it closer to her face to examine it more closely.

"My goodness, someone grab my sunglasses." Kellyie said laughing. "I'm so happy for you guys!" She shrieked as she hugged Melissa, and then JC. Melissa shook her head at Kellyie as she hugged JC and whispered something in JC's ear, knowing she said something to the effect of "If you hurt her, you're gonna be hospitialized."

*~Later that day~*

JC sat down on Melissa's bed and picked up the phone to call Justin to let him know that everything worked out fine. Justin and Stefanie still didn't know that JC proposed to Melissa. It had been a split second decision that his heart lunged at him as soon as he got to Arkansas.

"Hello?" Justin's voice said through the phone.
"Hey man, it's me." JC answered back.
"Hey JC, is everything okay?"
"Everything's fine, in fact, everything's perfect." JC said with a smile on his face.

Justin knew there was something that he wasn't telling him, but decided to wait until they got back to Florida to ask him about it.

"So when are you guys coming back? Stef and I are dying here without ya'll."
"We'll be on the next plane out of Little Rock. Melissa's packing right now as I speak."
"Okay, well, I guess I'll see ya when ya'll get back home. We'll wait up for ya."
"Yeah do that, cause there's something I have to ask you that's pretty important, and I really don't wanna ask over the phone."
"Okay man, we'll be up."
"Later J."
"Bye JC."

JC hung up the phone just as Melissa walked into the room with her bags.

"Are you ready to get outta here?" She smiled.

"You have no idea." JC laughed, as he stood up and kissed her.

Melissa and JC said goodbye to Kellyie, and were soon on their way back to the Little Rock Airport.

*~Late that night~*

JC pulled into their driveway, with Melissa behind him in her Ford Probe. They both got out of their cars and raced to the door, eager to tell Justin and Stef the good news. And to ask them a very important question.

"Melissa!" Justin and Stef shrieked as soon as the pair entered the house. They both ran towards her, and almost knocked her down from the force of their charging hugs.

"Whoa, easy there guys. I need to breathe you know, it's kind of an important thing, and I need to do that in order to survive." Melissa laughed.

They both backed away and looked at her. She looked like the old Melissa. The happy, energetic one they used to know before the accident. Melissa was glad that they didn't notice the ring on her finger. They wanted to surprise them with it.

"I think you both need to sit down, there's something we have to tell you guys." JC said looking at Stef and Justin.

"Oh my god, what's wrong?" Stef questioned, automatically getting worried.

"Just sit down Stef." Melissa said, adding to the drama.

Melissa looked at JC, and started to tell about what happened back in Arkansas, and about seeing her old high school friend, Kellyie. And she made sure to use vibrant hand gestures, hoping one of them would spot the ring on her hand and catch on.

"Just wait a damn second here! Melissa Lynn Morgan, what in the hell is that on your finger?!" Stef screeched, jumping up from the couch and grabbing Melissa's left hand.

"Not so fast Stef, it's soon going to be Melissa Lynn Morgan Chasez. So get it used to it." JC said laughing.

Stef's mouth dropped to the ground as she looked at JC and Melissa. Justin jumped off the couch and hugged JC and then Melissa. Stef was still in shock.

"Congratulations man! I always knew you would be the first one to go." Justin laughed.

"And Stef? I would like you to be my Maid Of Honor." Melissa said, smiling at Stef.

"And Justin, I want you to be my Best Man." JC said, looking over at Justin.

"I'd be honored to J." Justin said, hugging JC once again.

By this time, Stefanie finally snapped out of her daze and screamed, pulling Melissa into a tight hug.

"Should I take this as a 'yes'?" Melissa said.

"No, that's a hell yes girl!!" Stef shrieked.

After everyone settled down a little bit, everyone branched off into different parts of the house, to call family members and friends to let them know the good news.

JC walked into the living room to find Melissa asleep on the couch with her phone book in her lap. JC leaned against the doorframe and smiled. He quietly walked towards her, and carefully scooped her up in his arms, and carried her to her bed. He carefully layed her down and pulled the covers over her. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips before he turned the light off.

"Night baby, I love you." JC murmured.

"I love you too JC." Melissa mumbled still in her sleep.

JC ran a hand softly against her cheek and left the room, quietly shutting the door behind him.

(~) Chapter 12 (~)

Justin slowly walked down the stairs to find JC was the first one awake, watching TV. JC looked over and saw Justin coming down the stairs.

"Morning Justin." JC said happily.

"Yikes, this is scary. You're the first one awake, and you're actually, oh my goodness, dare I say the word? HAPPY?" Justin cried sarcastically, with a smile stretched across his face.

"Justin, I couldn't begin to tell you how happy I am right now. I don't ever remember feeling this way." JC sighed.

"Well, can I talk to you about something?" Justin questioned, as he took a seat next to JC.

"Sure man, what's up?" JC said, as he turned off the TV.

"Well, seeing you yesterday with Melissa, made me realize how long I've been in love with Stefanie also. And I know she feels the same way, cause I've talked to Melissa about it." Justin paused.

"What are you saying J?" JC questioned.

"I wanna know your opinion. How do you think she will react?"

"How she will react to what?" JC asked, confused.

"How she will react when I ask her to marry me." Justin said quietly.

"You want my honest opinion?" JC asked smiling.

"Yeah, honest would be best Josh." Justin laughed slightly.

"I think she'll pass out cold." JC stated laughing.

"So are you saying that's a good or bad thing? Justin said, acting confused.

JC pulled a pillow out from behind him and smacked Justin upside his head.

"Ouch!" Justin cried, "I didn't deserve that you know!"

"Sure you did. Anyways, when do you plan on asking her?" JC asked.

"Well, I wanted to ask her tonight. But I need to find her the perfect ring. Would you mind helping me?"

"No problem, we could go before the girls wake up. And we'll leave a note just in case they wake up before we get back." JC answered, standing up. He walked over to the table and scribbled a note for the girls, before darting out the door with Justin.

Melissa bounced down the stairs drying her hair with a towel on the way. She had expected to find someone downstairs, but no one was around.

"Hmmm, where is everyone?" Melissa said outloud to herself, as she spotted the note on the refrigerator.

As soon as she finished reading the note, JC and Justin came through the front door.

"Hey baby." JC said as he wrapped his arms around Melissa's waist, kissing her softly.

"And just where were you two at?" Melissa questioned with a smirk on her face.

JC and Justin looked at each other, then back at Melissa, "Shopping." The both said in unison.

"Shopping huh? Shopping for what?" Melissa asked, her curiosity rising.

"Hmmm, wouldn't you like to know." Justin smirked as he grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.

"Yeah I would like to know, and I know you wanna tell me." Melissa said laughing.

"Not a chance. If I tell you, you'll run off and tell Stef and ruin the surprise."

"Ohhhh, so it involves Stefanie huh?" Melissa said slyly as she hopped up on the counter.

"Uh oh, you shouldn't have said that." JC said laughing.

"Yeah, cause now you HAVE to tell me." Melissa grinned.

"Nope, I'm not saying anything. You'll find out soon enough. And JC, don't you tell her either. I know how easily you give in to her." Justin replied with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah JC, don't tell me." Melissa said, turning her head towards JC with a sweet smile on her face.

"Oh now that's just cruel." JC groaned.

"JC! Man snap out of it! Don't give in! She's evil!" Justin cried, smacking JC on the shoulder.

Melissa giggled and jumped off the counter, and grabbed a bottle of water before planting herself on the couch to watch TV.

The guys followed her, and sat on both sides of her. Melissa looked at each one of them with a raised eyebrow.

"Why do I suddenly get the feeling that ya'll want something?" Melissa laughed.

"Cause we do want something." Justin smiled.

"NO WAY Justin! I'm sorry, I love you, but not like that. JC would kill you THEN he would kill me." Melissa said trying to keep a straight face.

"Not that you pervert!" Justin cried as he smacked her on the leg.

Melissa collapsed into JC's lap laughing and gasping for air.

"It wasn't THAT funny sweetie." JC smirked as he stroked her hair.

"Oh yes it was, if you would've seen the look on his face...." Melissa spat out before erruping into another fit of giggles.

"Would you stop laughing long enough so I can tell you what I need you to do?" Justin said.

Melissa took a deep breath and looked up at Justin, "Okay Curly, what do ya want?"

"I need you to get Stef out of the house today, so I can get things ready."

"Get things ready for what?" Melissa urged, hoping they would let her in on what was going on.

Justin looked over at JC, as if to ask him if he thought she should know. JC nodded his head, and looked back down at Melissa, who still had her head in his lap.

"Get things ready for when I ask her to marry me." Justin replied smiling.

(~) Chapter 13 (~)

Melissa, JC, and Justin sat at the table, trying to plan out what was going to happen that night. Ideas were tossed back and forth for about 30 minutes, before they all decided on one.

Melissa stood up and gave JC a quick kiss before running up the stairs to Stefanie's room.

Melissa quietly opened to the door to find Stef still fast asleep. A sly grin crept across Melissa's face as she walked towards the bed.

"STEFANIE WAKE YOUR ASS UP THIS INSTANT!" Melissa yelled.

Stefanie sat upright, startled. And after catching her breath, she darted an evil glare at Melissa, as she smiled innocently and walked over to Stefanie's closet. She picked out an outfit for her and threw it at her.

"Go get in the shower, you look like hell." Melissa laughed.

"Thanks, you're just so full of love this morning." Stef mumbled sarcastically. "Are we going somewhere with the guys are something?"

"Nope, today is a girl's day out. We haven't went out, just the two of us in forever. I thought we could go do some shopping, get our hair done, and our nails, you know, that normal teenage thing. We can re-live our teenage years." Melissa replied grinning.

"Melissa, you're 22, and I'm 21, we haven't been out of our teenage years THAT long you know." Stef grumbled, as she got out of bed.

"Well, then we're just gonna go out and have fun, just the two of us. Hurry up and get ready, I'll be waiting downstairs." Melissa replied as she walked out the door.

Stef just shook her head at her best friend and laughed. "That girl amazes me sometimes." She said to herself, as she walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

Melissa came down the stairs and met the guys in the kitchen, giving them the thumbs up to let them know that Stef had agreed to go with her.

"You're the best baby." JC said as he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Melissa smiled and leaned her head back against JC's chest. "What time do you guys want us back here?" she asked.

"Give us till about 5:00, we should have everything done by then." Justin replied.

A few minutes later, Stefanie came bouncing down the steps. "Ready to go?" she asked, as she grabbed her purse.

"Yeah I'm ready." Melissa answered, as she turned around and looked up at JC. "I'll see you later tonight." She whispered as she placed a sweet kiss on his lips.

"Mmmm, I'm gonna miss you." He said as he ran a hand across her face.

"Oh for crying out loud Josh, we're gonna be gone for a few hours, not days." Stef laughed.

"I know, but I'm still going to miss her." JC pouted playfully.

"Ugh, I'll be waiting in the car Melissa." Stef said as she rolled her eyes playfully. She walked over to Justin and firmly placed her lips against his. She pulled away and smiled at him before walking out the door.

Melissa leaned up and quickly kissed JC again, "I gotta go, we'll be back around 5:00." she said as JC finally released her. She walked over to Justin and gave him a hug, "Good luck little man." She teased playfully, as she ruffled his hair. She turned to JC and flashed him a smile as she walked out the door.

"Okay J, let's get to work." Justin said smiling, wanting to make sure everything went perfectly.

(~) Chapter 14 (~)

Melissa pulled into a fairly reasonable parking place at the mall. They both got out and started walking towards the entrance.

"Okay, so what do we want to do first?" Melissa questioned.

"Well, let's go look in Abercrombie & Fitch. There's this shirt that Justin wanted, and didn't you say that there was one that JC wanted too?"

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that." Melissa answered as they walked into the store.

Melissa watched as Stefanie browsed through the shirts. "I just hope I can keep her occupied for a few more hours. You guys better hurry up." She thought to herself.

*~Back at the house~*

"We need more candles over there." Justin pointed.

"MORE candles? Damn Justin, if we put out anymore, you're gonna burn the house down!" JC laughed.

"Yeah you're probably right." Justin muttered as he sprinkled more rose petals trailing from the door and into the living room, he then continued to sprinkle them in a path leading to the sliding glass doors that lead out to the pool.

"Hey JC? Can you put some of those flowers into the pool please?" Justin called back into the house.

"Sure man, just let me finish lighting all these freakin candles of yours." JC laughed. As soon as he was finished, he joined Justin out on the deck by the pool and helped him put more flowers in the pool. By the time they were done, a beautiful arrangement of flowers were floating around the pool, as candles cascaded a soft glow around the deck.

Justin looked around him and gave a satsified smile to JC.

"Okay, I think everything is perfect." Justin smiled.

"Want me to call Melissa and give her the okay to bring Stef back?" JC questioned.

"Yeah do that. I'm gonna run upstairs and get ready. Do you know what you and Melissa are supposed to do?"

"Yeah, Melissa and I practiced before Stef woke up this morning. Don't worry, it's gonna be perfect." JC said as he gave Justin a reassuring smile.

"Okay, I'm gonna run upstairs and get ready, and you call Melissa. Tell her to make sure to have Stef come in the front door by herself, and have Melissa meet you in the back." Justin said before running up the stairs.

JC smiled as he grabbed the phone and quickly dialed Melissa's cell phone number.

"Hello?" Her voice rang on the other end.
"Hey baby." JC said sweetly.
"Hey sweetie, is everything cool? Are you ready for us to come back?" Melissa whispered so that Stefanie wouldn't hear her.
"Yeah, everything's ready. But listen to me carefully, I need you to do something okay?"
"Okay, what is it?"
"When you guys come back, make sure Stefanie comes through the front door by herself. Give her some excuse, like you left your stereo by the pool and you're gonna go grab it. I'll be waiting back there for you, and Justin's gonna be waiting in the house for Stef. He'll eventually bring Stefanie out to the back by the pool, and when it's time, we'll do our part. Okay?"
"Got it, we'll be back in about 30 minutes okay?"
"Okay baby, I'll see you when you get back. I love you."
"I love you too sweetie."
"Bye Mel."
"Later JC."

"Was that JC?" Stef asked.

"Yeah, he was wondering when we were coming home. Him and Justin are getting restless without us." Melissa laughed.

"Well, I'm ready...Are you?" Stef questioned.

"Yeah, I'm pretty tired, and I miss JC." Melissa smiled.

"Oh good grief Mel." Stef stated laughing.

"What can I say? I'm in love!" Melissa cried.

"You're not the only one." Stef mumbled under her breath.

*~1 hour later~*

JC was peeking out the window, keeping an eye out for Melissa and Stef. When he finally saw Melissa's car pull up in the driveway, he ran out the back door, yelling at Justin telling him that they were back.

"Why are all the lights out?" Stef questioned.

"Who knows with them two. They're probably watching a movie or something. You know they like to have the lights off." Melissa answered, trying to keep Stef's suspicions down. "You go ahead and go in, I'm gonna grab my stereo from the backyard. I left it by the pool, okay?" Melissa said, as she opened the gate to the backyard. She caught a glimpse of JC waiting for her, and tried to keep a smile off her face. It was hard cause JC looked so beautiful dressed in his tux. "Okay." Stef called back, as she walked up the sidewalk.

Melissa ran to the backyard and snatched her dress away from JC and quickly changed.

"Well hi to you too." JC laughed quietly. Melissa quickly zipped up her dress and pulled JC close to her as she firmly placed her lips on his. She pulled away and smiled.

"Hi." She whispered.

Stefanie walked into the house and noticed there were candles lit everywhere. But not enough to let her see where she was going. She reached up and fumbled around for the light switch.

"Where in the hell...." Stef mumbled. She stopped in her tracks, when she heard a soft voice singing, that was coming closer to her.

"Can this be true? Tell me can this be real. How can I put into words what I feel. My life was complete, I thought I was whole. Why do I feel like I'm losing control? I never thought that love could feel like this...when you changed my world with just one kiss. How can it be, that right here with me, there's an angel....it's a miracle." Justin's voice sang softly, as he reached Stefanie and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Stef felt hot tears burning her eyes, as Justin reached up and flipped the light switch. She gasped in amazement at the sight around her. Justin was in a tux, there were candles lit all across the room, and there were white rose petals marking a trial towards the patio door.

"Justin, what is this?" Stef whispered as she looked up into his peircing blue eyes, with tears in her own eyes.

"This is all for you." He whispered back, as he drew her hand up to his lips and kissed it softly.

He kept her hand in his and intertwined his fingers with her, as he began to lead her out towards the pool, where JC and Melissa were waiting on them.

Stefanie smiled when she saw JC sitting in a chair, in a tux, with Melissa in his lap, in a blue evening gown. "Getting your stereo by the pool huh?" She smiled as she raised an eyebrow. Melissa just smiled back innocently as JC wrapped his arms around her waist.

Justin turned towards Stefanie and looked deep into her eyes, as he ran his hand softly against her cheek. Melissa stood up and took JC's hands, as he stood up beside her.

Stefanie looked up at Justin and smiled, when Melissa started to sing the opening lyrics to "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain and Bryan White, with JC singing with her.

"Dance with me." Justin quietly whispered to Stefanie, as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Stef layed her head on Justin's shoulder, as they danced together, with Melissa and JC still singing.

As Melissa and JC sang the last note of the song, Justin pulled away from Stefanie, and placed a light kiss on her lips. He pulled away and smiled down at her.

He took both of her hands in his, as he slowly dropped down to one knee. Stefanie gasped as a single tear rolled down her cheek, as she looked down at Justin.

"Stefanie, you have no idea how much you mean to me and how much I love you. I know that that love will never end. I can't imagine spending one day without you in my life. Without your sweet kisses, without your loving smile, and without your love." He stopped as he slid the ring on her finger. He looked up at her and continued. "Will you marry me Stefanie?"

"Oh my god Justin." Stefanie whispered with tears in her eyes, "Yes Justin." she again whispered. JC pulled Melissa closer to him as he watched Justin and Stef.

Justin stood up and pulled Stefanie close to him and kissed her softly.

"I love you." he murmured softly.

"I love you too Justin." Stef choked out, still in tears.

Melissa and JC ran over to the couple and hugged them and congratulated them.

"Does this mean we're having a double wedding?" Stef laughed as she hugged Melissa.

"You know what? That's not a bad idea at all." Melissa smiled as she looked up at JC.

JC quietly crept into Melissa's room while she was still asleep. He slowly walked towards her bed, and smiled down at her. He sat down on the edge of her bed and rubbed her back.

"Baby, wake up." He whispered against her ear. "Mmmmm?" she groaned in reply.

JC snickered as he leaned down and started to nibble on her ear, then moving down to lightly suck on her neck. Melissa's eyes shot open in surprise.

"JC, what are you doing?" Melissa laughed.

He ignored her question, and continued to kiss her neck, as he slowly made his way up her jawline, and met her lips with his. She wrapped her arms around his neck, as they flipped over so that Melissa was on top of him.

"You guys, come on! Get downstairs already!" Stef shouted, knocking on the door.

"Damnit Stef! We're busy!" JC shouted back.

"Melissa Lynn Morgan! Joshua Scott Chasez! Get your naked asses out of that bed NOW!"

"We're fully clothed thank you very much!" Melissa retorted, before kissing JC one more time as she got up and trudged towards the door. JC slowly got up and followed her down the stairs.

"Finally!" Justin yelled.

"Chill little man." Melissa grumbled, ruffling his hair as she walked by.

JC sat down at the table and pulled Melissa onto his lap. Melissa tried her best not to giggle when she sat down on JC's lap, "See what you started?" he laughed and whispered into her ear.

"Okay guys, we need to set dates here. Do we really wanna have a double wedding, or what?" Stef asked, sitting down beside Justin.

"Well, I got to thinking, these are the biggest days of our life, why not have them a day apart from each other?" Melissa suggested.

"Okay, that's a good idea. But the question is, when?" Justin said.

Everyone sat there in silence, while they thought of dates.

"I've always wanted a wedding in the spring time." Melissa said.

"Me too." Stef said, as she nodded in agreement.

"What do you think baby?" Melissa asked, as she turned to look at JC.

"I have no objections to it...what about you J?"

"That's fine with me, so what about the dates?" Justin responded.

"Wait! I got! It's perfect!" Melissa yelled in excitement. "Stef, you met Justin on April 3rd, I remember, cause then you two introduced me to JC the next day, on April 4th! You two get married on the 3rd, and we can have ours on the 4th!"

"So the girl DOES have a brain." Justin smirked playfully.

"Funny, VERY funny." Melissa retorted, as she threw her pen at him.

"Ok ya'll cool it. So the dates are officially set for April 3rd and 4th. Melissa, do you have your brides' maids picked out yet?" Stef asked.

"Yeah, I have 4. My friends Kelliey, Leslie, Heidi, and Rachel."

"Okay, well we also have to get fitted for dresses, you guys for your tuxes, we have to pick out invitations, the cakes, the floral arrangements, oh god I'm gonna go insane already." Stef said as she started scribbling stuff down on her notepad.

Justin leaned over and slowly took the pen away from Stefanie. He placed a soft kiss on her lips, "Don't worry baby, we'll get everything taken care of, we have plently of time." he said as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, "I love you" he whispered against her ear.

"I love you too Justin."
