New Flower Display
Placed On Johnny Horton's Grave
Robert Gentry of Many, La. had a special flower display constructed and it was placed on Johnny Horton's grave in the Hill Crest Cemetery near Bossier City, La. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2000. The arrangement contained a real guitar with Johnny's signature. The flowers within the arrangement were donated by Iwonna Funderburk's Country Meadows Florist in Many, La. and were arranged by Ricky Lewing.

Johnny's widow, Billie Jean of Shreveport, La., for years had kept a guitar-shaped arrangement on the grave. Because of health problems some years ago, she had been unable to keep the flower display up. The new arrangement was placed on the grave with her permission. In addition, a Christmas poinsettia was also placed on the grave.

Robert Gentry, who arranged for the special guitar-shape flower display, is shown at Johnny's grave.
