Our earliest known "Wood" family members are brothers, Eli and Martin Wood. They probably had siblings? They must have had a mother and father, but we haven't found them yet. Eli was born Oct 13, 1811 in North Carolina. Eli Wood married Nancy Moon in Tippecanoe County,Indiana on March 1st, 1838. They had several children In Indiana. Eli bought Public Land in Illinois in 1846 and moved to the Bourbon, Illinois area, (Near Tuscola) and they had several more children. Nancy, his wife, was born Oct 10, 1818 in Virginia and died Sept 4, 1855. After Nancy died, Eli married Elizabeth Hendricks and had one more child. Eli died April 13,1857 near Bourbon Illinois.
