Here Is How To Join the BHMA & To Get Our Earned Membership Certificate:  We will never charge you money to join. You earn your membership. Also we don't give out rank certificates either, as we have unique membership certificates that do not list your rank as knowledge is power not your rank. Note we are now only accepting members through existing members. We want quality over quantity.

INTERNET MEMBERSHIP

  1. Sign up on our message board. Use your real name. This way we get no keyboard warriors. You will have to wait to be approved before you can post.
  2. Introduce yourself in the appropriate thread/section within 1 month of acceptance. Tell us of your training and more.
  3. Send us a copy of your 1st Degree Black Belt Certificate & your current certificate by email or regular mail. If you are under black belt or in a system that has no rank that is okay as well. Some styles use titles. This way we get no 10th Degree 5 year black belts. Sending a copy of your certificate(s) regular mail. Send to BHMA - PO BOX 92 - NORTH DIGHTON, MA 02764
  4. Send us a real phone number and address so we can contact you to confirm your membership if we want to.
  5. To get listed on our members section and to get our EARNED MEMBERSHIP CERTIFICATE you must post a minimum of 100 times.  However legitimate martial artists who are not computer literate may be brought in by current members.
  6. To remain a member you must visit the forum at least once before 90 days expires from your last visit to our forum. Members exceeding 90 days without logging on to the forum will be removed from our membership and deleted from the forum. It is okay to lurk and not post on the forum. Many just want to learn, and don't feel comfortable posting and that is okay. Whether you are an active poster on the forum or not it does not matter as long as you log into your forum account before your 90 days are up. So basically if you log in once a month you can enjoy all we offer for FREE. This method gets rid of the Internet Certificate Collector. Members who have posts of 500 or more will not be automatically deleted.
  7. Older members will still keep their listing as only the newer members have to maintain logging in before the 90 days. Older members shall stay Grandfathered in as these rules were not in place when they joined
  8. As a member you give permission to the BHMA to use any of your images, pictures, or videos taking at any BHMA event, or used in our forum to be used for promotional purposes.

IN PERSON MEMBERSHIP

  1. To become an official member all you have to do is teach at an official BHMA event. Also our official members can induct those martial artists, whom they know personally, like an old instructor who might not be computer savvy.

  2. As a member you give permission to the BHMA, Members,  and it's Affiliates to use any of your images, likeness, logos, or videos taking at any BHMA event to be used for promotional purposes.

Once you do this the BHMA will send you a link with the actual membership certificate for you to just add your information, and print out. It will be in Adobe Acrobat Format. Our membership certificate is just that, a membership certificate, not a promotional certificate. Remember you should be able to back up your rank with knowledge, fighting skills and or both. I thank you and hope you will join the BHMA. Just email us at the below email link. Put Join BHMA as the subject.

What does the membership certificate mean?
The Bonsai tree represents the peaceful aspect of martial arts. It also represents rooting. The Samurai warrior represents the dangerous side of martial arts. The martial artist is peaceful until the warrior is called upon. The Samurai is kneeling waiting to be called into battle.
