Sifu Dennis Blackwell: At the 6th Annual East
Coast Martial Arts Gathering on August 22nd, 2009 Sifu Blackwell was one of the
instructors going over Chin Na Finger Locks and more.

Rebelo's Kenpo Karate was the scene for an
official presentation Sifu Dennis Blackwell & Mr. Rebelo were recognized as the
"Co-Inheiritors" of Sijo Bob Smith's Shao Choy Hung Kung Fu system. The ceremony
was presided over by O Sensei Carlos R. Febres, Founder of the Nindo Ryu system
and Sijo's executor in regards to the future of the Shao Choy Hung System.
Febres Sensei was promoted to the rank of Fifth Degree Black Belt/Fifth Duan
Black Sash to act as overseer in the event of Sijo's death. He honored Sijo's
wishes and insured that promotion of rank and the allocation of titles were
done.
Sifu Blackwell
started in Kenpo Karate/Shaolin Kempo at the original Brockton United Studios of
Self Defense with Larry Mangone and James O'brien. He then trained with Frank
Pallilo at the "eternal Tao" martial arts studio, learning a combination of
kenpo, wah lum kung fu,and uechi ryu. He would next study with local wu shu
great Nuyen Chong, who was a tournament fav with his traditional forems,weapons
and even roller skating kung fu! Sifu Blackwell would then train for 17 years with
Sijo Bob Smith in the Shao Choy Hung Kung Fu for 17 years. He learned 5 animal
style kung fu, Chuan Fa, Northern and southern kicking styles,weaponry and the "Dragon"'s
specialty, Chin Na! The are working on DVD's of the 5 Animals. Each animal has
10 basic combinations, and each have their own form, and then put together into
one master form.
