XG's Buzz Music

Welcome to my home page! It contains all of my musical creations, made either in Buzz or Aodix Pro. You don't need to spend a fortune to make high quality music nowadays - even a £5.28 card will give you extremely high quality recording and playback, and there are many excellent free or very cheap programs available to make music with.

If you like any of my songs and would like to use my tunes in your own creations, please feel free to do so - I take no ownership of any of 'my' music - I'd be honoured if any of you like any of my tracks enough to want to use any musical phrases from them as the basis of your own songs.

MDA JX10

Produced with Aodix Pro. About two hours' work. My best yet! Hope you like it.

Dancer

This track was produced yet again on Aodix Pro. A few samples from my DB50XG (never run out of stuff on it in QS300 mode) and the inbuilt FM synth that Arguru wrote for Aodix Pro. This is a dark and menacing song, but lulls you into a 'trance' like state. I plan to release a second version with vocals on - did some rough stuff yesterday but haven't finalised anything yet.ps the MP3 file is almost exactly the same length as Skarlet, purely by chance! Scary or what?

Skarlet

My latest track, produced on Aodix Pro, an awesome new tracker from that great genius, Arguru. Drum samples are off the 'net (forgot from where) and all the instruments are sampled from my wonderful DB50XG (in QS300 mode, of course!)

All I can say about this tune is - it's my best yet, I'm amazed that I actually wrote it, and it sent shivers down my spine just listening to it for the first time!

Eat this!

Automaton (More recent version...)

I've worked on this for another half an hour, just to make it sound more like a song! Still not finished.

Automaton 2 (MP3)

Automaton (First Version)

My latest track, produced in Buzz - just mucked about with a demo of a new guitar synth, and came up with this in about half an hour (if that). Not finished yet - feel free to use it if you wish.

Automaton (MP3)

Karenina

Not finished yet, but I was amazed that I was able to produce a halfway decent track in about half an hour on Buzz. The bass line was, as usual, written at random until it sounded good!

Karenina 1.28Mb MP3 file

Technology demo. (not a finished song!)

DB50XG with no effects 502Kb MP3 file

DB50XG with effects 623Kb MP3 file

These are just an example of how adding effects can make a track sound 'listenable'. The initial version with no effects is very bland. The second version, with effects added, sounds great! I particularly liked the drum sounds - two 303 samples put through a Muon Delay and a Freeverb. (All produced purely by chance, I might add!) The hi hat sounds particularly good - very professional (IMHO)

The song's called "DB50XG" because the bass line is sampled from my DB50XG using XG Gold and Sound Forge.

When I've finished writing the actual song I'll post it up here.

Ambientesque (2.56 Mb MP3 file)

Ambientesque (26k Buzz file - visit www.buzzmachines.com if you don't have the right machines)

"Ambientesque" was the name of another Buzz song from which I started this piece - i.e. I took the instruments, deleted the music, wrote some drum lines (no samples used in this song), mucked about with the instruments a bit, to create my own sounds, and this is what I came up with! It's really two songs in one - that's probably why the second half doesn't flow brilliantly with the first.

Square T 2 (2.75Mb MP3 file)

Square T 2 (621k Buzz file - contains samples)

Square T 2 is another mish mash of little bits I wrote and put together - has deep bass drums, Square T synth for the lead, a sampled 303 and a synth 303 at the end (spot the difference!) Real 'jungle' style drums (i.e. original African jungle style, not western jungle)

Jack City (513Kb MP3 file)

Jack City (48k Buzz file)

Jack City is just an experiment - contains two samples ("Very nice" from a weasel in Wind of the Willows, and Albert Steptoe saying "Who cares!"), plus plucked string - notice how I changed the sound of the plucked string in the second part.

M4 Echoes (3.46Mb MP3 file)

M4 Echoes (397k Buzz file - contains samples)

M4 Echoes is my best Buzz track to date. (Which ain't saying much!) It's not finished really - could do with more work. The first riff was made completely at random, and just sounded good! Then I wrote the drums - using CM coverdisk samples and used a bass drum for a bass 'line' (if you can call it that). I particularly like the repeating bass guitar bit (the M4W in action!) at the end - sounds like some Ibiza anthems, I think. Play with the bass up full! The Buzz file is 397k, since it contains some samples.

Void Bass Drums (2.23Mb MP3 file)

Void Bass Drums (387k Buzz file - contains samples)

Void Bass Drums is my second best Buzz track - probably. It could be a dance classic if I worked on it a bit more!

Infector (2.47Mb MP3 file)

Infector (88k Buzz file)

This was one of my first songs, written (obviously) using the Infector synth. A bit of plucked string, and a completely lucky bass line (i.e. typed in random notes, and it sounded good!). This is another of my favourites - the hi hats in the background seemed to already come with built in 'phaser' effects, which is all down to Buzz!

Infector C (1Mb MP3 file)

Infector C (74k Buzz file)

This is dark and menacing - not by design - the random notes I put in just sounded that way. It's more of a 'technology' demo than a song - I don't particularly like it (and neither will you!)

BusyBee New Line (974k MP3 file)

BusyBee New Line (76k Buzz file)

This is a very 'poppy' sounding song - I used another Buzz file called "Busybee" (I think) to begin with, but obviously deleted all the notes, and wrote my own. (i.e. I used some of the machine set ups from that song.) Short and sweet. (ish)

M4W Tester (1.54Mb MP3 file)

M4W Tester (36k Buzz file)

This is just a set of little tunes I wrote using the massive M4W synth - only a technology demo - maybe some of them will become complete songs one day!

Efflorescent Gaia - Madtracker 2 song, written by Enigmatic Statement.

This is simply the best mod file I've ever heard in my life! Play this to anybody who doesn't rate trackers...
