What was this place, you ask of me
Where myriad women did swoon?
A dream or some sweet fantasy
A place beyond the moon?
Nay, 'twas a place in this very land
Though it seemed not of our age
Where through the nights we made our stand
Awaiting our prince and sage
O, Windtunnel, thou fated friend,
Who through those hours harbored us
Perhaps only you could comprehend
Why our mental state was precarious
'Twixt your hallowed stones our time we'd bide
We could never be morose
When to our friends our obsessions we'd confide
In the spot we called comatose
Ah, thy walls could tell such a tale
Thy doors opened on a dream
Is't possible one single male
Made our behavior so extreme?
Was't illusion? Or delusion?
Or the beating of a plastic drum
That made our minds fill with confusion
And every limb go numb?
Surely thy walls and mighty column
Contain wisdom unknown by mortals
Still thou keep'st thy silence solemn
'Bout what stars passed through thy portals
'Twas far away and long ago
For those lost times we grieve
But would you speak to us,
finally tell us all you know
If we "pretend to leave"?
