PRAYER, revisited for the umpteenth time

No, stay...
We don't care if you've been downsized
Don't go away,
'mong Broadway shows you are a prize.
Come back!
Though not the great big show we knew
We are still quite fond of you
We'll be so Miz, what can we do?

It's gone,
And we will mourn from night to morn
We can't go on
Without our dear Frank Wildhorn
Oh, Frank,
Your music gives us all such bliss
Theater-goers must be remiss
To let you go away like this.

Oh, yes! God knows, we like "pop" songs,
But why say that is a bad thing?
Why can't it just go on and on?
And let us tap our feet and sing?
So be it then, the show may burn
And Broadway break my weary heart
But Frank, I know, he will return
I know he has more music to impart!

So, go!
And break me, but I will survive
And slowly,
Inspiration will revive
And Frank,
He'll write another show quite soon
We'll come back again to croon
Frank may make some Broadway people moan
But he makes us swoon!
